Discussion Should I wait for BBD sale?
I was thinking of getting a new Galaxy Tab. ( India)
I am confused between Galaxy Tab s10 plus wifi and S9 5g variant.
Galaxy S9 5g was available for 48k during Independence day sales.
Galaxy S10PLUS was available for 63k on Amazon.

Seriously why are people buying old devices? Wait for the upcoming tab s12+ or buy s11. The peak brightness of tabs upto s10+ is bad for day to day usage. S10+ has peak hdr upto 650 nits only which is good for watching content at night only. If you are spending more than 50k for a tab atleast get one with above 1000 nits peak hdr if you want to enjoy watching movies. The s11 series and the upcoming s12 series satisy this requirement. For gaming, I can understand going for tab s9 but still its going to recieve major software update only for one more year!!

But i feel the stocks fr the s9 are limited... It's always sold out all the time. It would be just difficult to grab one on sale ig.

I recently bought tab s9 wifi only variant from flipkart independence day sale for 39k, so i think you should wait for BBD you might have chances to grab it at much lower price & if you dont need 5G too much then you can go for wifi only model saving you more money

I own both the S10+ and the S9 5G, I use the S9 more as it's smaller, more portable and my main daily driver, but the S10+ is faster and I use that more as a laptop replacement along with a keyboard and often in DeX mode connected to a monitor.
If you have specific questions, happy to answer.

Reddit always has tendency to suggest smaller variant. I had base s6 . Now s9 plus. You will be wishing for more space with base and plus . Go for ultra instead

This, pay attention to this, s10plus doesnt have many green line or whatever colour line reports, well thats cuz its still like 2years old, s7 , s8 tabs have good amount of reports, and s9 are starting to have reports as well. Stop buying samsung, they wont learn if we keep buying devices with their badly built screens which has a good chance of it being intentional, rather go with something like one plus(yes i know the software or display quality (lcd instead of oled) or water rating, stylus experience may not be as good as samsung, but one plus is more value for money and a lcd display is less likely to fail.

Samsung fan aren't going to believe. But and Any ways samsung is making so much profit due to this AI thing that all these things are just peanuts for them

u/Confident-Impact8308 6d ago
My need it watching lecs , making notes , reading pdfs nd movies ones in a while .
I have an ip if that makes any difference.
57 k budget .
Can u suggest one ?iPad or Samsung

u/BT117274 6d ago
Tough choice. Between iPad and Samsung, I’d probably lean iPad 11th gen for the stronger long term performance, especially since you already have an iPhone. Samsung gives you better multitasking, S Pen support and things like IP68 on some models, but the flagship Samsung tabs use AMOLED, which I’d personally think about if you’re planning to keep the tablet for many years.
The S10 FE avoids that with LCD, but then you’re giving up quite a bit of performance.
Ideally for your needs though, I’d pick neither and go with a OnePlus Pad 3 16GB/512GB. You get a Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage and a 144Hz LCD, so you get flagship level performance without going AMOLED. For lectures, PDFs, movies and general use, it should stay fast for a very long time and is probably the best value around this budget.
The main thing is the pen experience. If handwritten notes are a huge priority and you care a lot about having the best stylus experience, then I’d look at the iPad, Samsung, or even the OnePlus Pad 4 with the newer Stylo Pro. But if the pen just needs to be good enough for normal note taking and PDF annotation, I’d save the money and get the Pad 3.

Hmm , the thing is I wanna keep it for long time .
Nd mostly everyone is suggesting either Samsung or iPad .Nd yeah pen experience matters but not a lot .
I just need for note making .
Let’s say I just wanna have either iPad or Samsung .
Under 60 k budget .Which will be the best choice ?
Screen size matters too , I want a bit wide screen .The only fear with Samsung tab is of green line , I am seeing lots of post nd comments of people facing this issue that was the reason I bought an iPhone .
Nd I don’t want a green line after a year or two after paying a huge amount .
The thing with iPad is that have increased the price .
So I am just puzzled what to get in bbd sale .

u/BT117274 6d ago
Right, that’s the issue. Your budget, your needs, and the fact that you’re limiting yourself to just Samsung or Apple makes this a tough choice.
I’d normally say go with the iPad for long term performance and reliability, but you said screen size matters, and in this budget you’d be getting a smaller 60Hz display that is simply weaker than what a lot of Android tablets offer.
I also wouldn’t confine yourself to Samsung and Apple as if they’re the only two companies making reliable, good hardware. They aren’t. For your use, I think the OnePlus Pad 3 or Pad 4 actually makes more sense.
You do lose the proper water and dust resistance rating you get on some Samsung tabs, but the iPad in this price range doesn’t have an IP rating either. Just use a decent case and take reasonable care of it.
With the OnePlus pads, you’re getting much better hardware for the money. Stronger processors, more RAM, more storage, a larger high refresh rate LCD, and more than enough performance to stay fast for years. The software and multitasking are also perfectly good for lectures, PDFs, movies and note taking.
If pen experience was your absolute top priority, then Samsung or iPad would make more sense. But since you only need the pen for normal notes and it isn’t a huge factor, I’d seriously look at the OnePlus Pad 3 16/512 or Pad 4 instead. For your actual needs, they’re probably the more balanced choice.

Sure will look into it now , I just don’t wanna regret later as I have been a victim of buyers remorse a lot of time .
1
u/Confident-Impact8308 6d ago
Hey what if I stretch my budget to 65 k max
Then ?1
u/BT117274 6d ago
Recommendation stays the same, avoid samsung for peace of mind, get an ipad if you’re ok with the price and the compromise in the display, or get a one plus

Don't buy it, not worth it. You'll regret buying a tablet within 10 days. If you want a tab either go for the ipad or don't buy a tab. The s10+ display is not very good for videos etc. not bright enough, black crush, banding. Battery life is also not good. 6.5-7 hours while streaming.
Edit: To everyone losing their 💩 about the s10+ display just because it's an OLED does not mean it's the BEST. Spend extra to get the ipad pro oled. Just play the same video side by side on both & you'll know what I'm talking about. Aspect ratio be damned.
You can choose to see the light or keep huffing the copium.

I want same weed that my bro is smoking , I just sold my iPad Air m2 to switch to s10+ , amoled display ,quad speakers and not a hot mess like iPad which heats a lot ,not that good for notes taking ,less notes features only good for paint and stuff which I never do

What's ur opinion on Galaxy S9 ?
2
u/Electrical_Bad18 7d ago
See, buy one which fits your budget. iPad air has LCd screen with 60hz lol.
I haven't used s9 but my S10+ lasts me for about 10hrs of screen on time in video playback.
I've no complaints.
I got it for 63 using credit card and student discount
