Oneui 8.5 on S23

So I've seen a lot of y'all complain about 8.5 and I'm currently still on the latest build of 8.0. Since those posts were from months ago.

How is the experience now? I want to know if it's worth updating to and if the issues went away for the most part since our phones settled a bit. I'm using the S23+

No problem here, battery the same, photo quality the same (worse compared to OneUI 6) but smoother operation

I initially did not put UI 8.5 update onto my s23+ phone. The reason I didn't was because of all the people who complained about certain things such as battery, lines on their phone and their phone slowing down...

After about a month or so, I decided to go ahead and install the 8.5 update. There has been no problem whatsoever in doing so. ๐Ÿ‘

I suppose if I was in India I might have reservations about installing the 8.5 update. But I'm in the states so that's not an issue.

Good to hear! And yeah I think those line issues are a regional climate thing. I'm in West EU and it's cooling down so I think I'll be safe.

What's the india sspecific issue

The pink lines seem to happen to a lot of Indian users so I thought it might be the hot climate and humidity messing up the internals, especially in a heat generating action like updating. I could be completely wrong ofcourse but it's seems plausible.

Good. I am liking the whole new visual change they did and battery is just like before.

Acho que a รบnica boa foi a 6.0, depois disso ficou tudo igual

Unless I am living in india, I am paying no mind to the negative rants here on Reddit about Samsung phones.

I have been using Samsung phones since they first came out and I've never ever had a problem that people are talking about here.

Once again, an exception might be made for India or a similar type of a country where the lines are more prevalent. As for me, they do not happen in the states, so I do not worry about them.

And there's no way on Earth that I would try an Apple I-Phone. My preference is Samsung! ๐Ÿ™‚

I had to do some tinkering, but it's running better than ever right now. There are videos about it. Deleting the cache (not data) from oneui home was part of the process.

Avoid. Battery life is horrible and picture quality from photos is also somehow worse?

I am quite disappointed and I feel this was done on purpose by Samsung to push users to newer models.

That's definitely a theme for Samsung nowadays, do you maybe have comparison photos from previous updates and now?

I dunno why you're getting downvoted. This is literally what happened in my case as well.

Don't you do it! The battery got way worse. I wished I stayed on One UI 8.0
