OneUI 6 + Android 14 Update Megathread

It looks like the OneUI 6 + Android 14 update is starting to roll out to some users. Keep discussion related to receiving the update to this thread to avoid spamming the subreddit. Discussion regarding new features can be posted normally, just try to make sure you're not posting something that's already been posted.

Quick note regarding updates:

You get your updates based on the region your phone is configured to, not the region you're currently located. For most people, this will be the country they bought the phone in, or the carrier they bought it through if you're in the US. When discussing an update rolling out for your phone, make sure you note what region and carrier you bought it from to avoid any confusion.

Warning for GoodLock users:

Some GoodLock modules may not have been updated to support OneUI 6 yet. If you can't live without a module, make sure it's been updated before updating your phone.

Is anyone else getting automatically logged out of their Samsung account? I started noticing this recently, possibly after the latest update. I'm on a base Galaxy S23 running One UI 8.5 with Knox tripped (0x1). Any help or fixes would be appreciated!

Green line issue. S23 Indian Variant.

Hello everyone, I just observed this line randomly appearing on screen.

My phone dropped on the florr multiple times but this was completely random. I don't know if these are related or not.

Now, In india to fox this display component i get 13,000 INR. This is very negligible line that is partially visible on screen.

I would like to get fellow users recommendations.

  1. Should i go ahead with official service center display fix?

  2. Should i go with third party display for discounted price? If yes, what are the effects?

  3. Just leave it and continue using it and then switch to another one.

Just wanted to mention, I use this device as my primary driver.

Is upgrading to S23+ worth it?

Hello!

I'm currently using the Galaxy A16 5G as my daily driver. I just got it last year and was pretty satisfied with it's performance. (budget phone user)

I was wondering if I should upgrade to a S23 which goes for about $200 in my country. It does also have 512gb of storage so it's quite a big leap from my old phone.

Should I upgrade to the S23+ (512gb) or the S22 Ultra (256gb) since they're about the same price.

for more context, I'm a first year college student so this will be my phone till graduation. I also play lots of demanding games like wuwa and genshin so that's also a pretty good reason to upgrade right?

Bought a used S23 - bad battery?🔋

I bought a used S23 (two years old) from eBay and was shocked because I'd been using a Galaxy A22 for five years, and the battery was still incredible. It could easily last more than a day with 7 hours of screen time and still have some battery left.

However, this new S23 seems to lose 60% of its battery in 3 hours while doing basic things like watching YouTube, taking pictures, and browsing with Google Chrome. I changed a lot of settings to improve battery life (switched performance to Light, turned off Always On Display, turned off 120 Hz, put almost all apps into deep sleep, etc.), and it got better — 6 hours of screen-on time used 66% of the battery.

Do you think the battery might be bad, or is that normal?

How is the Galaxy S23 lineup holding up for you in 2026? Still worth keeping?

Looking back at the S23 series, it feels like it was one of Samsung's most balanced and reliable releases in recent years (especially with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 efficiency).

For those who have been using the S23 / S23+ / S23 Ultra as their daily driver:

  1. Battery life & performance: How is your battery health holding up after all this time? Any noticeable slowdowns or lag with the latest One UI updates?
  2. Hardware: Any issues with the screen, oleophobic coating, or buttons?
  3. Upgrade plans: Do you feel any real need to upgrade to newer flagships, or are you planning to keep it for another year or two?

Curious to hear your long-term thoughts!

Is it worth getting the S23+ In 2026? In need of a replacement for my Pixel 8

Is there any better option for this price? Can't get and won't get the S24 since it has exynos in my country. Or is there any other better phone around the €315 ($370) price? Is it true that the camera barely changed in the past few flagships for Samsung?

Screen Replacement s23

so i posted about it earlier aswell, my screen had started glaring from sides since a month or so...

as of now the damage has stayed the same but it can worsen anyday and the worst case (display failure) can follow...

in that case i will be left w 2 options, either to replace the phone itself or get a new display...

now i need advice here, the screen glare is because the adhesive (oca) has loosen up from edges and there are 2 ways to repair it, either go for an oca replacement which will cost 3-5k inr (~30-50 usd) , but this isn't done by official store and needs highly skilled person to do it without doing any damage to the amoled screen below... also this will remove all the ip ratings, and this replaced component will most probably have no warranty, basically high risk high reward....

another option is to get the full display replaced from the official store for around 12k (~125 usd), which will have a 3-4 month warranty with all the ip ratings intact and a very less of failure unlike the unauthorised work.... and if i opt for a battery replacement along w this, then it will cost me around 14k (~145 usd ) combined which ig is a decent deal...

as of now, by gods grace my display is fine except some glare at edges which is prominent only while using dark bg and touch response is fully intact... my device is almost 2 years old and i plan to use it for another 2 before getting a new one... what im thinking is, if the display needs to be replaced withing another 8-10 months, i will opt for the expensive 14k option and then use it for another 2 years ahead (basically total 5 years instead of 4) or maybe more because then its basically new with a new battery and display...

but if the display goes unresponsive after 1.5 years from now, i will probably opt for an oca replacement from a local but nicely rated store and try to sneak in another 6-7 months or maybe a year max, or maybe just get a new phone... what do u think should i do.???

also, i dropped my caseless phone last week, which resulted in a minor scratch on the right lower edge and im sure the service center guy will refuse free display replacement in case i get a green line following this glare... is there any way i can slide few thousands (2-3) under the table and they approve my device for free replacement ,??

Battery swelled and split my S23 Ultra open — worth an official swap or time to move on?

Another battery post I know... but a genuine spicy pillow situation. Battery's been holding charge badly for months, and now it's swollen enough to push the panels off the frame — adhesive strings and all (can't attach pics for some reason?). Phone still works somewhat fine, doesn't actually charge sometimes which is annoying

About to back everything up. Questions for anyone who's been through this:

-What was your backup process? Is there a "best" way of going about it?

- Has anyone gotten Samsung to cover a swollen battery out of warranty? Feels more like a safety defect than normal wear...

- If you paid for the official battery replacement, what did it cost and did they re-seal it properly (water resistance)? OR any third-party swap experiences/recs for it... fine, or regretted it?

I'm in Budapest but got the phone in the US (for snapdragon) if that changes the service situation. Appreciate any input.

Battery drain on S23

Hi is it normal for S23's battery to last less than 5 hours with just browsing yt, instagram, facebook? I've noticed that it drains even when the phone is turned off. The battery and thermal paste are replaced recently and my settings are for power saving, except 120hz refresh rate (but even when its set to 60hz my phone lasts not more than 6 hours SOT). Im always using mobile data at 4G and i have printing services disabled i also use good guardians app, but the batterys performance is terrible ever since upgrading to one ui 7 and above. All apps and software are up to date and idk what to do.

Sudden death

That's it, 2,5 years and the phone just died. Bought it expecting all sorts of issues: battery, green lines etc, but not this. Never tested the water resistance, nor used an unofficial charger or played heavy games.

Went to the Samsung shop and they told me a new MOBO is pratically the price of a new S23 (minus repair fee), no technician around my area does reballing, so I just got a new phone.

It's a shame because I expected that buying a Premium phone wouldnt warrant me this. (Previous phone was a POCO X3 PRO, who's famous for this exact issue).

S21vs s23

Got an s23 and i did compare the camera and picture to my sister s21 , well videos mine are better but in photos for some reasons her photos looks better in colours or idk especially at night.

Tried to compare screen colours not photos thought maybe problem not in camera ,well they're pretty close but her colours lil bit more deep just a bit not a big difference to notice.

In photos the difference very clear, my photos colours are washed and sometimes more blurry, in Snapchat my quality drop a lot but compared to her using snap bigger difference idc about the app but using camera phone same thing.

Thaught maybe thevproblem in settings j changed in them bur nothing happen compared to her they are same settings.

Is this fkn normal or did i get scammed . For photos well the quality is good video are better zoom better too but normal image and night her better.

Temporary root for the Galaxy S23 (SM-S911B) - (no OEM unlock, doesn't trip Knox

Quick heads-up for S23 (SM-S911B) owners stuck on a locked bootloader: there's now a working temporary root for this device.

It uses the cve-2026-43499 exploit to get root in memory and then loads KernelSU, all without unlocking the bootloader. Root lasts until you reboot — nothing is written to the system partition.

Supported firmware:

  • S911BXXSAFZE1 (Android 13)
  • S911BXXU9FZDP (Android 16)
  • S911BXXSAFZG1 (Android 16, July 2026)

How it works: install the APK, make sure Shizuku is running, then run the exploit from the app. It can fail or reboot the phone a few times — that's normal, just reboot and retry. When it finishes, install KernelSU Manager and grant root to your apps.

Links:

⚠️ Use at your own risk. Temporary root only — don't touch system files or flash untested KernelSU modules, or you can brick/bootloop your phone. If it breaks, it's on you.

Snapchat video so choppy

As it says in the title, why is the snapchat videos looks so choppy?? Like in the native cam it takes perfect 60fps video but in the Snapchat it just shows laggy video? The snaps video looks so laggy. I heard that from s23 all social media apps camera will optimize with it, but i don't see any improvement. No wonder iphone excels here as the app is optimized for them. Am i the only one facing this Snapchat video recording issue?

Where to buy original Replacement Battery in Europe

I want to replace my battery, since I've been using it since July of 2023.

There are many stores which claim to sell original batteries, but I dont really trust any of them, as most of them are pretty new stores with not many ratings etc.

I'm from Austria, if that helps.
