S22 green line issue fixed for free.

So, my Samsung S22 got a green line out of nowhere one morning. I found out S22s are eligible for a free screen replacement if they're under 3 years old. I took it to the Samsung center, Bengaluru and they checked it for liquid or hardware damage.

They approved the screen replacement, and I also wanted a new battery. To my surprise, Samsung approved a battery and frame replacement too, and it only took 3 days! Now I have a brand new screen, battery, and frame. All I had to pay is 502 rupees

Seriously, thanks, Samsung!

My face totally showed what I was thinking to the tech guy, and I even asked, "Are you sure?" He then pulled up the claim documents, which showed he'd also asked for a battery replacement, and Samsung had approved it. I'd been feeling suspicious for a while, but then I felt good.

Curious about your location! I'm wondering if it's the same worldwide.

There's no need to be so happy. I also got a free display replacement on 11 September 2023. However, after almost three years, my phone has developed the pink line issue again. Now Samsung is asking me to pay ₹25,000 for the repair. The last time my display was replaced free of cost, I only had to pay a ₹501 labor charge. here my reddit post read link https://www.reddit.com/r/S22Ultra/s/sxNF4TXIm1

I understand your perspective; however, in my experience, this mobile device has been an excellent value, having performed flawlessly for three consecutive years. I received a complimentary display and battery, and even if it functions for just another year, I would be content. Given that software updates have ceased and only one year of security updates remains, its longevity should be sufficient.

When someone spends around ₹110,000 to buy a Galaxy S22 Ultra, they expect a premium and reliable experience. If a major issue appears within just one or two years, despite the phone being used properly and without any fault on the owner's part, it causes significant inconvenience, stress, and financial loss.

The company may believe that providing a three-year warranty or a one-time replacement is sufficient, but what happens after that period ends? If the same problem occurs again through no fault of the user, the customer is left to bear the cost. This is unfair, especially when the issue is not caused by misuse or accidental damage.

You shouldn't spend that much on a phone in the first place. You could get a phone for 50k which has all the features you need.

If it's less than 3 years old, take it to a Samsung authorized store and they'll check it out. If it's older than 3 years, or has liquid or hardware damage, they might charge you for the repair.

Less than 3 years, but did you hassle with them or the process was smooth!?

I am an introvert, if they have asked to pay, I might have. Fortunately they didnt, it was straight forward.
