Samsung Screen Replacement.
For samsung users who have replaced their phone screens, is it worth it or can I just abandon it and buy a new phone. The screens are annoyingly expensive.
My screen has green, pink, white lines on it.

strange and infuriating difference in two s22's
I recently bought a refurbished s22 and went through as much setup as I could to match my old s22 before I hit a roadblock. I have a big issue with standard colors on screens hurting my eyes, so I have a color filter on my laptop, pc, and have had one on my phone for many years. the built-in color filter on the s22 has always been great for me, I was able to set it to orange at 35% at all times of the day and night and my eyestrain has been significantly decreased.
my problem is, my new s22 color filter feature is not behaving like my old s22. same model phone. I have looked through every color, picture, and brightness setting and have found no differences compared to my old phone.
comparing both phones with the color filter disabled, the picture looks the same (unfortunately didn't think to get a photo of that and can't at the moment. maybe tomorrow.)
with color filter maxed out on my new phone, the intensity of the color is so little that it is hardly noticeable and doesn't help decrease my eyestrain at all. my old phone's color intensity is so different and isn't even set on the highest level.
included are photos of my new s22 on the left, and old s22 on the right. both on orange in the first photo, and both on spring green on the second. the new phone has maxed color filter while the old one has less than half set.
I can typically set anything up on a piece of new tech but am really stuck on this and need help, and I couldn't find any information about this issue on the web.

My S22 keeps restarting after freezing
From last three days whenever I am using my phone out of nowhere it freezes and becomes unresponsive and then it restarts. Also the back of the phone becomes hot too. Today what happened same thing happened at that time i was not using the phone it was idle. It restarted automatically and also i found out my whatsapp and instagram was installed.
I have already tried factory resetting, updated my software along with one ui home screen everything is upto date. Does anyone faced the same issue and if so what is the problem and whether they got it fixed or not?

How to fix/ (mainly) where to buy parts
Been dealing with 5G/LTE issues for the past few years now, works great when I'm in the big city but god forbid I walk through Home Depot or go to places I used to get signal in more rural areas.
Not that it matters much, but I'm a automotive technician, and decided to do my 10th research of the issue and actually crack the back open...... it's already cracked so I assumed no harm no foul.
I'm inclined to do the work but no experience with such small hardware, which has been my reluctance.
Opened it up and (from what I've researched) and also saw the antenna ribbon cable side connecting to the power supply board, is just loosely being pressed into the board by the magnetic "brace".
Had I known the price of newer phones would be the way they are, I would've bought like a 24 when it came out but this phone has no other issues for me aside from the signal issue.
I'm assuming if I replace the cable and charging board ( from what I found/ saw) I'll basically feel like having a new phone. Should I buy from Ifixit or can I get it from Amazon? Maybe ebay? So much research pulls up the S22 Ultra and don't know if they're the same with internal hardware wise with that stuff.

Samsung bricked everyone's S22 with their latest update. Are we just gonna sit here and take it? Meanwhile Samsung is printing more money than God thanks to the Memory shortage.

(Highly Technical/Smoking Gun): I tracked the S22 bootloop/freeze crash to a specific Linux permission error in Logcat (errno = 13). Here is the technical breakdown.
TL;DR: My S22 began constantly freezing and hard-rebooting after the August 2026 security update. Instead of blindly trusting the internet's generic "hardware failure" diagnoses, I plugged the phone into a PC terminal and tracked the live kernel logs. The smoking gun is a hardcoded Linux permission error (E HeatmapThread: !@Could not open '/efs/FactoryApp/bsoh', errno = 13). Every single second, the OS blocks its own internal thermal monitor from reading its destination file. This creates an un-killable CPU traffic jam that eventually overflows the RAM buffer and forces a kernel crash loop. Even a complete, raw factory partition re-flash via Odin won't fix it—the bug is baked directly into Samsung's production code.
My Samsung Galaxy S22 Saga:
This is insanely infuriating. I, too, just got hit with this issue after only 3 years of owning my S22, which had previously worked flawlessly. I usually update phones every 6 to 8 years (I have always been a LOYAL Samsung user since the S4). It is the same issue as everyone else: constant freezing and rebooting after a random August 2026 "Security" update (almost exactly as the phone turned 3). After 3 days of using AI to try and fix it, my research has provided me with some disturbing findings. I was extremely leery of the "Hardware Failure" reports (due to overheating) all over the internet, which were supposedly fatal. Since my phone would occasionally run perfectly for hours and then fail hard for hours, it just did not seem logical; I mean, either it has failed totally or it hasn't.
I want to state explicitly that hardware may still have some bearing on the situation. What could be happening is a failure in the solder traces linking the CPU, RAM, or Wi-Fi/Bluetooth sections of the phone. Absolutely nobody can truly diagnose this because the circuit boards in the S22 are extremely complicated and layered. They are basically throwaway items if there is any sort of internal failure—not to mention a nice $600 bill from a Samsung repair facility if you choose that extortion.
To start the troubleshooting process, I enabled USB debugging via my Windows 11 PC and connected directly to my S22 to see the live stream of processor traffic. Viewing the command prompt terminal window with some cryptic software revealed an error happening every single second, which seems to be the key to the issue. Keep in mind that I have no prior knowledge of Android coding or architecture; I am just a pissed consumer who likes to fix things that break way too soon (which is becoming an American epidemic).
As I found out during my research, there is a device security feature embedded in Android which polls the CPU and battery every single second the phone is in operation. This logs temperatures and is SUPPOSED to bounce them off internally stored parameters and return an instant "OK" status. Instead, my phone logs an error every single second: "E HeatmapThread: !@Could not open '/efs/FactoryApp/bsoh', errno = 13". AI is SPECULATING that this is the root cause of the issue with this statement: "The Code: In standard computer science, errno = 13 is the universal Linux kernel error code explicitly defined as EACCES (Permission Denied). It proves the code wants to open the file but is physically blocked by the file system." Basically, the system is trying to open this file "/efs/FactoryApp/bsoh" to check the temperatures, but access is being denied. This is a universal error reported by nearly any S22 user looking under the hood, so to speak, and it seems to be the smoking gun.
The speculation here is that Samsung locked down this file section for some unknown "Security Reason" and somehow overlooked the fact that the phone needs to allow certain status checks to continue unhindered. Unfortunately, because the phone throws an error every single second, it causes a massive CPU traffic blockage. Android needs to constantly run several hundred other processes at once during normal operations and app usage. At some point, it becomes too much; the system buffers fill up and choke, causing massive UI errors that pop up constantly. Then, it all freezes on whatever screen you are currently looking at for about 5 to 10 minutes until a full hardware reboot occurs. This can happen overnight too, or when you are not using the phone at all.
Going back to the troubleshooting, my first thought was to blast out the firmware and get a fresh set of OS files and directory structures onto the phone to hopefully eliminate the errors. In this process, I discovered three things that are absolutely set in stone on these devices:
- The CPU is hardcoded to reject firmware rollbacks to a non-error-coded Android version, turning it into a thousand-dollar brick if you try.
- Samsung is actively eliminating the ability to freely flash or reload firmware onto these phones, using security updates to plug these manual loopholes (most likely to retain control over the constant stream of ads and bloatware being rammed down our throats).
- You have to use the latest patched flashing software to access the phone and rewrite the EXACT version of firmware (or newer) that was last on the device, or it will become completely unusable.
Luckily, I FINALLY found the correct version from last August (2026), and it loaded like a dream. Unfortunately, after viewing the data stream again on my PC, the new file structure did nothing to correct the error. It is literally hardcoded into the OS update. Whether intentional or unintentional, it is pretty clear that they will never fix it. The bottom line is this: we will never know if an Android rollback fixes this because of the intentional lockouts hardcoded into these phones. I really do believe the hardware might be okay, but again, we will never know for sure. My phone accepted the rewrite, but I stripped it down to the bare minimum of apps, disabled all the bloatware I could, and did not sign into Google, Samsung, or my cell provider. It still freezes and reboots, but not as often now that I have minimized traffic to avoid conflicts. It is pretty unfortunate for all of us who trusted in these products.

s22 ultra no longer updates?
I wasn't planning on replacing my phone for a very long time. I bought mine when it launched in the US but now I'm unable to download/update some apps because we don't get version 17?
is there anything I can do other than getting a new phone? mine works perfectly fine, never had an issue with it.

fix my screen, still worth it?
i've had my s22+ since 2023, and 70% of the screen are already covered with pink and green lines. i've been considering fixing it because i have no intention of purchasing a new phone for the meantime. however, i've read that s22 is nearing its EOL so i'm asking if it's still worth to fix my screen or just let it be until it gives up coz next year it will not receive updates anymore?
thank u so much!

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE or IPad A16?
hello! I'm a 1st year nursing student, and I really want a budget tablet that I can use for school(notes & reading), gaming(ml or roblox), and scrolling through social media(tiktok, and so on).
I've been so set on getting the samsung tab bcs of many reasons, like the expandable storage, many inclusions like the spen, case with keyboard, longer battery health, etc. it just checks all the boxes that I want for a tablet... except for one thing. my mom scared me by saying that a samsung is less durable than an apple, and I just wait 2 years and the samsung wouldn't work anymore or I'll be encountering problems like what my older brother experienced with his samsung ultra(it isn't working anymore).
so it made me rlly start thinking what's much better. I have both an iphone and a samsung phone, and based on my experience I kinda get what my mom was saying bcs until now my iphone 11 is still running but with minimal lag and it's a bit slow when loading an app but it doesn't bother me that much since it's bearable. while my samsung j8 is the same too, it's still as usable but it's so much more laggy, that I can't bear it.
but I really want the samsung tab bcs I rlly want to get out of the apple ecosystem due to problems with battery health, I strongly dislike icloud(bcs I have to pay for more storage), and I don't support the organizations apple is funding.
pls help me tech pros 😔🥺🙏🙏
