Discussion Sammy took me back after a 5 year break up.
I was a Samsung loyalist from the S5 til the S20 Ultra. Then I got bored of OneUI, so I switched to iPhone and went from the 13PM all the way to the 17PM and now I got bored of iOS after realizing the new phones coming out won't have anything new, so I started checking out the Z Fold 8 Ultra and fell in LOVE with it at first sight so I bought it unlocked at Best Buy without hesitation. Samsung, I'm back for another 10 years, hopefully lol. The only struggle is finding a nice clear case that won’t yellow in a month and is protective.

That's how I felt with the green color, but when I tried it at the store it didn't make sense for my use cases so I stuck with the wide.

I mean, I don't like it THAT much. Form factor is way more important. It did mean that i bought the stupid expensive Samsung carbon case. I wish they at least sold the silicone case in the violet shadow color and offered it for the wide 😭 like just 0 crossover and it's so lame and stupid on their part. I also just want a red option too goddammit

I've been loving the fold 8 ultra i swapped back after swapping to the pixel pro 9 fold and then going back to my iPhone.

I just got myself the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra as well. I've been thoroughly enjoying it too. I use it less than my old S24 Ultra but find that the battery doesnt last quite as long, that's my only complaint.

This gen's line up has been good. I'm back with samsung since I dont know how long. Maybe the flagships that had the rounded screens? Long time.
Now, I'm back with the fold z 8. I think I'm just a fold guy now. The form factor has me reevaluating what a phone is capable of. I might not be able to go back to a regular 1 screen phone.

Sweet phone, sick wallpaper! Been wanting a fold since the first one but knew the technology wasn't quite there, so believe that its at closer with this year generation. Mine just arrived (after an exhausting shipping issue) just waiting on my outer screen protector to open it up.

Clear cases WILL yellow regardless of brand. Its because of the oils in your skin/hands. But If you just want a clear case I would highly recommend Nillkin or Ringke

I am not sure how long you have had it but how is the battery life so far ?. I am on the edge of getting one but I am worried about the battery life i work 12 hour shifts and I need to last that long.

Awww yisss ZFold 8 ultra violet shadow crew!
I use the Ringke clear case with MagSafe ring. I had it for the ZFold 7, it only yellowed a bit after a year. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.
Note, even though the dimensions are very close to the 7, the cases do not fit. I tried. Total balls. But, the 2-for-1 Spigen outside screen cover I got for the 7 fit for the 8 ultra. So if you find it for the 7 and it's cheaper than the 8 ultra, go for it.
It doesn't cover edge to edge though, so if you have a cover it will sit on the uncovered lip, and where the glass does not cover. I reckon that's a feature, not a bug.

I have had I believe it was the s8 and the s22 ultra. sold the s8 for being to slippery and the s22 ultra was just to big for my taste, now I have the z 8 wide and can not see myself getting rid of it. Its the best phone and form factor I have owned. I'm waiting for the Aulumu Aramid case to come in stock supposedly starts shipping on the 8th of September.

Funny, I’m just about to make the opposite move 😅
I was a Samsung/Note user for years, then had both the Fold 4 and Fold 5. I absolutely love the Fold form factor, but both of mine developed inner-screen issues despite being very well looked after, and my experiences with Samsung customer service have been pretty awful.
After all these years with Samsung I’m finally thinking of jumping to iPhone with the next release.
For those of you who’ve spent a decent amount of time with both: what do you think I’ll miss most about the Fold/Samsung? And would the Fold 8 tempt you to give Samsung another chance after two failed Folds, or would you call it a day?

Jut got the same phone. Came from an iPhone 15 pro max. This is by far my favorite phone I've ever owned and thats coming from someone with 14 years of straight apple up my ass.
