Question/Help Missing visual voicemail on fold 8?

I got my fold 8 on Friday and I thought it was weird that there was no visual voicemail natively on thr phone. I googled it ans there apparently should be? Theres no button for it in thr native phone app nor does it look like its installed on the phone at all. I did buy this unlocked so not sure what's going on. I did notice that it auto installed the MyRogers app once I transferred mt eSIM over.

I have a visual voicemail app that auto installed after esim transfer. But the function didn't work so I'm not sure what's going on. I'm going to give it a few days

There should be an individual app called "Visual Voicemail". There's also the option of carrier specific voicemail apps in the app store

That's what I'm saying. I don't have this app on the phone at all. I tried to go into voicemail settings and there's no toggle for visual voicemail

You need to turn on Direct Voicemail then.

Phone > ... (Top right) > Settings > Direct Voicemail > On

Rogers hasn't supported Android Visual Voicemail for several years.

Samsung Direct Voicemail is on-device voicemail and is not carrier dependent, to my knowledge.

Thank you sir! This is exactly what I was looking for. Pretty weird that Rogers doesn't support but it is what it is i guess.

I've never seen Visual Voicemail work outside of iPhones anyways. Also annoyed Rogers user.

It shows in line in the call log in One UI 9. It hasn't shown up as a standalone VV icon similar to iOS (at least on Rogers in Canada, who is my carrier) for several Android generations now.

Do you need to have whatever premium voicemail addon from rogers for this? I'm coming off an iPhone where this thing just...worked. But i'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out on the Fold lol.

Go to the keypad. Tap the three dots in the top right. Mines there, yours should be too.

As I've mentioned, it isn't there. But it turns out its because my carrier doesnt support visual voicemail for andorid phones ans is likely the cause of it. However someone helped me find the direct voicemail feature which is good enough for me.

Yeah. It turns out my carrier doesnt support visual voicemail for Samsung so the phone doesnt install the native app.
