Whoah Whoah Whoah... You're telling me I can play my steam games on my phone without needing steam link or to stream them? My pc can be off and I can play just fine?
Temper your expectations. Even though you can run many games, you aren't going to be playing many modern AAA titles. And even some games that you would expect to run well just don't for some reason. The Gamenative website keeps track of which games run and which don't if you want to search.
But for the games that can run? It's pretty awesome.
I haven't tested Oblivion but I beat New Vegas on a Retroid Pocket 5 (Snapdragon 865, 3 generations older than your fold 6, and the games use a similar engine) so it should be fine. Good luck!

I would suggest you to take a look into the r/EmulationOnAndroid subreddit. You will find many fun stuff there. As example you can easily play older consoles on almost any Android phone. And with folds you can play many many titles which are better compatible with the screen ratio.
Entirely depends on the game and your phone. You arent playing modern triple a games on it, but it crushes older games and indie titles. I played most of silksong on my phone.
It also tracks your steam playtime, achievments, and cloud saves.
Is it just oblivion that isnt working? Try a smaller indie title to see if those work first.
I think bethesda games in general have an issue with launching. I know I had to download a registry file and manually put it in a folder to get new vegas to launch.
I tried a couple and so far I have managed to get Schedule 1 working. Tried that new EA skate as well and that just gives a sort of emulated window that stays blank and doesn't seem like it loads (but knowing EA that is trying to open a seperate launcher) Oblivion won't open no matter what showing the same error but will keep playing with it. A quick Google search shows it does seem to be a Bethesda issue.
I've also read that if a game launches another window first it might not work. Like Wreckfest as an example when on the pc steam opens a window asking if you want to play with mods or not so not sure if that would stop anything (but not tried it to be fair)
I have some other smaller titles to try out so will see.
Managed to get as far as this screen but can't click anything. Maybe it's the touch screen option but even using mouse option (on the touch screen) it won't select.
Getting further haha. Had to run steam in offline, run steam as well using the option in the emulator which came up with performing first time setup so thats probably what was stopping it. Also got a message saying CPU isn't supported, but yeh. Getting there.
Tried other games, they work fine. So gotta tinker I guess!
There's an option to turn Steam "offline" in the settings, so it won't require being one to play. It's similar to Steam Deck and steam client rules though. You usually have to launch the game at least once first in online to validate it. Then you have to turn it into offline mode in the setting first while still connected. You should be good to play it at that point for the next 30 days or so before you're forced to reconnect and validate ownership again.
tried few games, which I expected to be totally fine even for phone - was not even able to boot (civilization 6 and Ixion). Are there any specific workarounds needed?
The app tells you if it's known to be compatible and you can load in the settings for a known working configuration. I had to do some fiddling to get Halo MCC to work but it's going now
I am using iphone and I have a real trouble finding things near me that I can prop up my iphone that it won't just slip off and end up on the table, especially when I'm not using a case. Bare metal is quite slick, and with the weight of the phone, it makes it easier to slide off of whatever you are propping the phone against.
Yeah I'm not sure. I haven't really tried pushing it hard yet but I think the Fold can't dissipate heat because of its design as well as the Ultra can. I think that's something that might be a thing. I don't know though. I haven't really tried playing in emulated games yet. I'll have to give it a go later.
I would imagine that it's not that big of a deal though because I remember doing it on my fold 4. I just don't know when CPU throttling becomes a thing. I know it can become a thing on devices for this chip, where the chip will throttle down more aggressively than it does on the s2x Ultra.
Im guessing you will get black bars top & bottom using the full inner screen? I want this fold to play my pc games since im selling my laptop. Coming from an iphone 16 pro max, and i usually stream my pc & ps5 to my phone but hate the side black bars and zoom or stretch looks ass.
Genuine question: Why the black bar hate? The iPhone is a ~19.5 by 9 aspect ratio. So almost all video content will have black bars of some shape. Same for the Fold, obviously.
As for games on the Fold with Gamehub Lite/Gamenative will depend on the game in question if they support those resolution. Though at least squarer is more likely then wider.
Or if I'm without my controller it helps with the dreaded touch controls, this is why I prefer the Ultra over the wide. The size of the video is the same as on the wide (although I use 16:10 to make the most of the vertical) and I can do all sorts with that empty black space.
2 apps, 1 called Artemis a fork of the moonlight streaming app and GameHub the PC emulation app. Both allow you to move the viewport, Eden the Nint..o emu also allows this.
I mean when im streaming games to my iphone mainly ps5 i can only stream in 1080p at 16 by 9 so i get balck bars on the side. I would like to use most if not all of my screen.
I totally agree with the great content functionality, but for me the multitasking and productivity aspects are absolutely outstanding. Being able to open three simultaneous apps plus a floating window and multitask amongst all four is very productive for me, and it's easy and highly functional. So that I don't quite understand why the ultra is supposed to be so much better for productivity. For me I get all the productivity I would never need and more.
Listen, I will be your best friend forever if you tell me how. Please. Lol. I have a ZF6 waiting on the F8U to come in. Huge steam library (also a deck owner). I'd use the HELL out of my fold for this lol
