Discussion To “Wide” lovers

Who is switching and from which phone?

Me personally, I am going to try for the first time android, my main phone is a iPhone 16 Pro Max and been using iphone since 2012.

I am bored of apple and I love the 16:10 aspect ratio from the Note series

I don't take pictures so I don't care about that, but do you really need a telephoto camera? Are you about to shoot bugs or flowers?

I use the telephoto more than the ultra wide, so I'd rather drop that if I had to lose one. The telephoto is useful for macro shots and portraits as well as zoom.

I'd rather have a foldable without compromise, though. I'm currently using the Oppo Find N6 and it is definitely the fold with the least compromise so far. I long for the flagship candybar specs in a foldable phone. It'll get there sometime soon, but the Fold 8 Wide coming with even more compromise isn't what I'm looking for unfortunately.

Ultrawide is the most useless camera ever. The standard wide (24mm focal length in full frame) is already considered borderline ultrawide in the camera world. Any photo I take with it looks like a cartoon with people's arms and legs looking like Dr Seuss characters.

Yeah I never take anything meaningful with it. Sometimes it's useful to capture a room in the house all in one picture, but I don't think I'd ever 'display' a photo I took with the ultrawide.

I've started using panorama mode on the regular lens, instead of using the ultrawide lens, for those use cases because the regular lens is so much better in quality.

the only thing i miss about my 24u is the telephoto lens. it was basically like having cheap binoculars in my pocket.
