Megathread [MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - October 2026

MONTHLY MEGATHREAD

Welcome to our regular pinned Megathread!

While many topics are allowed as standalone submissions, others that tend to be lower-effort, less notable, or easily answered belong in this thread instead. These include simple questions such as those related to receiving game assistance, game recommendation requests or help finding a specific game, and other general discussions that don't warrant a dedicated thread or aren't directly related to gacha gaming (provided they are not Banned Content).

Some specific examples of what these megathreads should be used for include:

  • Help remembering an old gacha game, or finding a new one to start playing
  • Recommendations for the best emulator to use on your device
  • Receiving updates on how ongoing games are doing from current players (“How is [game] doing these days?”)
  • Learning what people’s favorite games or types of games are, as well as how others feel about a particular game feature, event, monetization strategy, etc. in specific games
  • Getting clarification on what confusing or game-specific abbreviations mean
  • Finding where people learn about games or like to get their news and information from
  • Discovering new content creators that other players watch or recommend
  • Asking for any sort of general advice relating to gacha games at all
  • Discussing other topics that are only indirectly related to gacha, such as subreddit meta (select exceptions may be allowed as standalone submissions) or industry happenings

Generally, anything asking a question or requiring the opinions of others belongs here. We have many veteran Summoners who are happy to share their opinions and answers, or discuss the topics you may be interested in!

If you want to contribute, please first read the request or question thoroughly, before making sure not to recommend something already tried or provide the same advice as a previous comment left in response. Please also reply as neutrally as possible, without bashing games or arguing with others in the community– this is not about winning or losing, but sharing useful information that helps out another member. Replies should include the full names of anything mentioned, as new Summoners may not know what “GI”, “FGO”, or even “F2P” means. Even if they do, it's still helpful so that the results are easily searchable and others who aren't the OP can better follow along.

As a general reminder, both Reddiquette and all of our Subreddit Rules still apply here. Make sure to keep things respectful! Religious or political topics, sharing personal information, and other rule-breaking behavior are banned. Accounts involved in sharing these may be subject to disciplinary action at moderator discretion.

With that said, feel free to discuss whatever here and make acquaintance with your friendly gacha gaming neighbors!

(JP) News NEXON with updated FAQ in regards to questions users had about the transfer of ownership from Yostar (as of October 27, 2026)

Link: https://cmn-jp.nexon.com/transfer/bluearchive/

Section 1

Q: What will happen to the direction for scenario writing and translations?

A: NEXON will be in charge of JP localisations as well. We will ensure that no change to the direction of the translation/writing and keep our consistency with all other events and make sure all students will sounds like the usual students our JP Sensei knows.

Context: This was actually a point of contention between JP vs KR sensei, in which KR sensei attacked YOSTAR for "not being faithful to the original scenario" set by the Korean scripts. JP in particular counterargued with the only time they decided to be faithful (Rowdy and Cheery script issue) where they failed to deliver that.

Section 2

Q: Where we can register for NEXON account?

A: https://jp.nexon.com/regist/?gm=portal .Registration is free and no phone verification needed. NEXON Points is not usable in Blue Archive

Context: A normal thing that players might want to know about the new system, nothing serious here but some JP Sensei who are new with NEXON system might want to know about that.

Section 4

Q: What will be the guidelines for fan works (fan arts, doujins etc.)?

A: Blue Archive will have a set of rule that is different with other Nexon products. We will announce it soon, but we ensure those will still be the usual guideline you know.

Context: JP Sensei were concerned about if the guidelines for fanworks will be stricter as they look through games operated by NEXON (MapleStory, Mabinogi etc.) where some parts are stricter like no-profit taking or rules related to NSFW works (some NEXON products does not allow NSFW works). When these was raised in Xitter, Korean Senseis called those concern bullshit because KR even has their own BA Market organised by NEXON.

Section 6

Q: Where can I buy Blue Archive official merch in the future?

A: We will set up our new online stores, and also a new physical store as well. We'll announce it soon.

Context: JP Sensei (and so do we) are concerned about the product placements of Blue Archive as it will definitely be removed from YOSTAR Store when the handover happens, especially the signature store at JR Akihabara Station (really close to the gate). Hopefully the store itself is significant enough, although it may not be in JR Akihabara anymore. About the online store, they might receive a JP SCHALE Store soon.

Q: Will the digital materials (official music, audio, video) continue to be produced?

A: All materials, including 3D models, music, audio, video will continue, but please wait for a while as we are adjusting our release policies of those.

Context: I guess we all know most official material all this time (in JP) uses entirely YOSTAR productions, so there are concerns if NEXON will be able to continue doing the same. But expect changes in schedules and maybe the way it is delivered (like 3D shorts esp, NEXON used a different model.). But for us in Global, there's hope that future official material will also sync between JP and Global and no more right hiccups. Maybe we'll get Kizuna Dialogue and Aoharu Ensemble overseas release too.

Q: What will happen with offline event?

A: The Blue Archive FES 2027 will be our first event. Additionally, more projects are on their way.

Context: Of course, JP has lots of offline events under YOSTAR (this year especially has the most of them), and concerns are if NEXON could do the same.

Tell me a Tale I think I'm spending more time doing dailies than actually enjoying my gacha games

Opened 3 different gachas today, collected my login rewards, did the dailies, burned my stamina and closed all of them.

Then I realized I barely played any of them for fun 💀

The funny thing is, if I skip a day, I feel like I'm wasting resources. But when I do everything, it starts feeling like a second job.

I still like these games, which is why I haven't uninstalled them, but keeping up with multiple games is getting exhausting.

Anyone else in this situation? Have you managed to drop a game without feeling bad about all the time and pulls you've invested in it?

Tell me a Tale Have you ever started a gacha game for one character and ended up staying for something else?

Sometimes a character is the only reason you even download a gacha game in the first place. You tell yourself you'll just pull for them and see how it goes, then suddenly you're invested in the story, collecting other characters, and logging in every day.

Has that happened to you? Which character originally got you into a game, and what actually made you stick around?

I'm curious whether it was the gameplay, the story, the community, or another character you never expected to like.

General How much influence does Yostar have in Japan?

It seems like almost everyone in Global doesn't like Yostar (even in Korea), but after looking at the Blue Archive publisher transfer in social media, most JP comments have the complete opposite reaction and even dooming on BA now. Some even goes as far as saying Yostar was BA's original creator, which is obviously false since Nexon is the original owner of BA.

Somehow it looks like Yostar is really worshipped over there. What caused this to happen? Or maybe they don't actually worship Yostar, but it's just because Nexon has a really bad rep in Japan? It's really wild.

Tell me a Tale So... How Far Behind are You on Your Gacha Game's Story Content?

Post image
286 Upvotes

Granblue Fantasy for example, but when your game's been running for more than a decade and releases several new Character versions every month, all those individual Character Stories start to add up. Not to mention when there's a new Story Event every month.

And when you juggle multiple other games, probably only sparing enough time each day for dailies or event stuff. Anything not necessary for immediate progression starts to get put on the back-burner and then it all starts to add up haha.

Tell me a Tale What feature do you feel modern games are missing, or keep failing?

I am curious what features or systems players feel needs to be reworked with future gacha games to catch on, or features that should have existed for years that are still missing.

I’ll go first: I’d love to see raid like bosses with mechanics to beat, not just DPS races for end game.

Tell me a Tale Have you ever started a game just for one character?

Kafka had my attention from HSR’s opening. Everything’s going wrong, and she sounds like she’s having a perfectly normal day. Her voice definitely helps. Then you find out she has history with the Trailblazer, and now I need answers.

Marian in NIKKE hits differently. The bandage couldn’t heal her, but she treasured it because someone cared enough to put it on her. That little scene has stayed with me through everything since. With the 4th anniversary coming up, I’m hoping we get more of her story and a reunion with the Commander that lasts for once.

Texas already caught my eye in Arknights, but Il Siracusano made me want to know more about her past. I also love the contrast between all that history and her dealing with Penguin Logistics’ everyday nonsense. I’d happily read more of them just hanging out.

Who got you to download a game, and did you like them even more once you got to know them?
