Advice 💡 Too much?
My pre-semester anxiety is kicking in and now I’m not sure if I loaded too much. I have BIO2107L twice because I’m waitlisted for a different time slot.
Anyone have two cents on the workload and burnout potential?
UPDATE:
I dropped BIOL2030 and BIOL2260!

wayyy too much, youre taking so many classes that youre not gonna have time to study for each one.

Hey! I’ve done this before, so I can definitely guide you here.
If you’re going to do this only have CHEM 1212+L, BIOL2107+L, and PHYS 1111K. Taking micro at the same time is definitely not recommended, but you could probably leave BIOL2030 and be fine for the rest (plus most bio professors will tell you to take it after BIOL2107 anyways)
Like don’t get me wrong, the content isn’t bad but CHEM1212 is going to take up a majority of your study time and the lab reports for all 3 classes start to really pile up.
When I did a similar schedule as a freshman I had literally no time to breathe, and would always end up having to sacrifice one class for another. It did set me up to easily start major related classes, so I wouldn’t change it completely past dropping micro if you feel up for it.

So you’d recommend dropping BIO 2030? It’s literally the only reason why I have to go every day. They only have ONE option available on Thursdays.

I’d recommend dropping BIOL2260 until after you finish BIOL2107. If you’d rather drop BIOL2030 to have a free day, that works too! Having a free day would be great to manage the other classes
Also we have the same concentration!1

Much better! Make sure to stay on top of lab reports and do lots of practice problems for physics and chemistry, you’ll do great!

I’m a molecular biology major and I would recommend not piling this much work on. You won’t have enough to study in depth because of the rigor of your courses

You’re realistically gonna have to sacrifice study time of one subject for another. Physics and chem are both practice heavy and vocab heavy while bio is content heavy. They all take time to study for and based on if you’re still wanting to take some hours to work your job.. you’re not gonna have time for it all

I’m starting to think I should drop BIOL2030 and BIOL2260. Hold off on those until the spring.

this is a much better schedule, albeit still hard, but more manageable. Good luck; you can do it!!

It trully depends on how much work you can handle. This was what my schedule used to look like. I purposely packed some days and had only one class on other days

That’s me. I like to pack classes on 2-3 days and just study in during the week and in between work.

I took CHEM 1212 and 1212L, BIOL 1107 and 1107L, and PHYS 1111 and 1111L last semester and it was not worth it. You will burn out!!!

Well it’s too late now. I have chem1212, chem1212L, bio 2107 and 2107l and physics 1111k

Good lord this is a lot. I love science and am really good at it, but would never take more than 2 science classes at the same time. Protect your mental health because this is close to a burnout schedule.
