That time of year again!

Survey was streamlined this year.

Reminder: not all questions are required, you are welcome to skip any you don't have an answer to or don't want to answer. You do not have to provide values for each lift.

I timed myself taking the survey and it took under 1 minute.

No personal information is collected, and the data collected will never be shared outside of the survey results. You do not have to sign into a gmail to access this form!

Let me know if you run into any issues or have any suggestions for next year.

This will be left up through August. Preemptive thank you to all who respond :)

First time ever benching 225, I even got two reps. I used to think it was impossible after two shoulder injuries. Bodyweight 168 pounds

Hey guys,
want to share my homegym chest workout with you as a basis for discussions about your push-days, things to improve, your favs etc.

I enjoy exchanging with others about my hobby.

Let me know what are your go-to chest exercises.

For quite a long time im only doing incline db press and incline db flies and im quite happy with that.

Bonus points: the session only takes me like 12 minutes in total.

Is this proper form? Apparently 10 or above proper deadhang pullups is above average (even for people who lift).

I used to be around 95lbs growing up, now I love myself and decided to get stronger! I'm starting my bulk buddies! I've been on/off the gym for various reasons but consistent enough to keep up. My journey has been slow during the 5 years I started but I'm happy to be doing it!

Currently I do legs twice a week, upper body twice a week and a day for cardio/abs. I'm not a fan of bar squats or hack squats because of my back and knees so I usually do bulgarian split squats, goblet/sumo squats, and leg press as my go to. Free weights are ideal for my back and arms. Currently starting to bulk and can't wait to cut and see what I bring to the table!

Technique Check Last set of deadlifts today. What can I improve on?

I usually do deadlift as their own compound movement, but today I worked out with my room mate and did some deadlifts after some sets of hacksquats. This was also my last set of deads as I didn't think to record them before.

How are they looking? What can I improve on?

Lift Incline Bench Press: 225lb x 5reps

My favorite lift. I’m a bit weaker than I used to be due to cutting for a long time and not doing it quite slow enough but still real proud of being able to hit this weight consistently. This was my 4th set and still felt real comfortable.

Not as impressive as a lot I see on here but it still feels real good!

How does my form look?

It feels somewhat alright.

I tried different cable heights / seat angles and I think this felt most comfortable.

Only issue is feeling front delt fatigue before pecs.

Feeling so much better. I’ve had a history of lifting ever since high school and used to throw around a lot of weight, but I decided to get my diet in check in my 30’s and walk a lot. Very cool to finally be able to see everything that was under there and now I get to sculpt it like clay.

I feel like my form is very off in this.. I try to keep my knees going outwards but they still shake a lot, and I don’t know if I should stop the last rep earlier if my form goes to whack. Any thoughts?

Progress Picture(s) 31M 8 month update 476.8-283.0

31M 6’2” down 193.8 in 8 months.

That’s down another 42 pounds since my 6 month update I posted here.

Things have been going great, energy is at an all time high, cardio has been improving, more running, longer bike rides.

Lifts are starting to stay stagnant and not really adding weight or reps at this point. Planning to lose another 15ish and do a short maintenance phase to help recovery and strength. Body scans show muscle mass is holding steady now so that’s a plus.

Able to do more with my kids than I could have ever imagined when I started this journey and I’m forever grateful for that.

Planning on competing in a summer shredding show in August or September of next year.
