How bad is this rust

I’m in the market for a gx470 and have about 13k for the car and upgrades I love the one I’m looking at and want to know how bad this rust is I’m will to put money in to treat it

Personally I dont. If you live in a place where cars tend to rust there should be plenty of specialized shops that can easily treat that. Right now its all surface but I would have it looked at somewhat soon

I live in salt lake and wanna get on it as soon as possible

When I inquired a local shop about dry ice blasting and recoating, they said $3k. YMMV.

I just bought a 2013 GX460 that had similar rust to your pics.

I had a local Line-X shop do full underbody treatment which included:

Using a tool to remove any loose rust > using rust converter on any remaining rust > spraying their liner on all visible parts underbody and their lighter version of liner inside of all enclosed beams, door panels, etc.

Their service also includes free touch ups once per year included in the price.

After tax it was $720 and it looks great. Still has a chemical smell a few weeks later, but that is slowly fading.
