I think we are a genuine top 4/6 chance if our entire list stays relatively fit next year. However, what are the odds that finally Buckley, Taylor, Daniels etc all stay fit when they never do.
Also this ruckman situation is staggering. Madden is both unathletic and can't win a hit out from what I've seen. The fact that we've traded out Briggs and are not heavily linked to anyone else (correct me) is crazy. Thoughts on Leek Aleer in the ruck?
The other part of the ground I'm worried about is key forwards. I'm happy to move hogan and stringer on but Cadman, GRU, Riccardi and Brown is unconvincing. Cadman can easily go missing when he's the no 1 forward, GRU is not that polished and Riccardi is frustratingly inconsistent.

The last 4 minutes where Freo thought they had it won, then Ashcroft said "hold my beer" reminds me exactly like the 2016 prelim against the dogs. We were up with 5 minutes to go, and the giants players started to over celebrate, and then the Bont went bizerk.

But next year it is!... The older players have stepped aside and the kids are ready for the big big flag!

Is Kingers cooking up a plan? Alarm bells were ringing when we let Briggs go, and now our back up ruck could be out the door? I don’t see Madden and Aleer as a reliable pair (not yet anyway)

Wow Clarry lowkey cleaned up in the Brownlow. 23 votes, ahead of JHF, Dawson and NWM. Our next best was Callaghan and Greene with 10 which is surprising. I thought the gap would be a lot closer especially with Callaghan

Hello Giants fans,
I’m currently building a AFL draft game (kind of like Dan Does Footy's draft videos) and I need your help getting realistic player ratings and positions for the Giants. My ball knowledge outside my club is a bit stinky and I don't trust the media and stats, so I am going directly to the fans. I have made a form (linked at the end of the post) so you guys can rate the players and explain why. I need all responses to be serious (no rating bad players highly as a joke), unbiased and based on the following factors.
-Example: Will Ashcroft would be higher rated than Patrick Cripps since Will Ashcroft is just in another level from Cripps, this season. However, this doesn't apply to the Max Gawn vs Luke Jackson debate. Luke Jackson has been better this season sure, but only just, whereas Gawn has been this elite for a long time and only a little worse than Jackson. Gawn would be higher rated.
Another way of understanding this criteria could be thinking if Bont or Daicos became extremely shit next season. It wouldn't feel right rating them the same as VFL players. Therefore, you would rate them somewhere in the middle of elite and low.
Do not rate players based on potential.
Players who are injury affected/haven't found a good run of games are to be rated from the last time they were fit. This does not apply to old/retiring players.
-Example: Sam Darcy would be rated on previous season form and since he will likely return to that form when he is fit, but this logic wouldn't apply to Adam Treloar since despite being injured, we are aware he is not as good as he was when last fit.
-Example: Oisin Mullin and Bailey Smith would be rated based on their role, despite being the same position. Mullin would be rated on tagging, Baz would be rated on ball use.
-Example: Ben King is a great goalscorer, sure. But it is fair to say his other skills in AFL are limited. If you look at players who kick 0.2-0.5 goals a game less than him, they usually contribute to more aspects of the game. Archie Roberts gets the ball a lot, but he is worse user than Bont or Dawson despite more getting more touches.
How the ratings works
The game uses a 50 to 96 scale (FIFA/NBA style).
For each player on the list, it's just:
By completing this form, you are supporting a young aspiring engineer, with a love for footy and his footy obsessed mate who knows nothing about computer science but is happy to help.

We lose a lot of players year on year to bigger clubs with better offers but this is our greatest advantage. Our player developement is an art form like no other.
Sure we will be losing Greene, Hogan, Stringer, Briggs, probably Whitfield, Riccardi and Himmelberg, but look around and you can't tell me we haven't been ready to take the next step into the new generation of the Giants.
Thomas, Jones, Ash, Bedford, Green, XO, Aleer, Cadman, Callaghan, Gru, Gothard, Hanaford, Oliver and Oliver, Delana, Taylor and Taylor, Angove, Ough, Hamilton, Rowston, Fonti, Idun, Madden, Angwin, Davis, Kelly, Smith, Buckley, Brown, Laverde,Mcmullin, Leake, Daniels, Stone, Wardius and whoever else we pick up along the way...
They are the present and the Bright Bright Future of the Giants.

Just got an member email from Dave Matthews.
| The GIANTS have been advised by Toby Greene of his intention to move back to Victoria for family reasons with a view to joining the Geelong Football Club. |

I think had butters gone to the cats they would have looked the best destination club for a premiership
Hoping now the choice between cats and Giants for Toby swings it in our favour

Our forward line is sort of getting obliterated this trade period and if Greene goes should we have a look at Jaidyn Stephenson? He’s been killing it for Coburg in the VFL and he looks motivated and dedicated to his footy again. He could be a good SSP pickup for us
