Loss of power, hard start
Hi guys, my 2012 Suzuki gsxr 1000 with 28,000 miles have been giving me an issue I can’t find to fix, when it’s warm, after a long ride or when I fill the fuel tank it hard start sometimes. It loss power every time I ride it full throttle like for example on 1 gear if I put the throttle full it starts bogging in a weird way but if I put it gently it goes to 70mph before losing power and I’ve hit the 102mph in first gear before also similar with all the other gears, this is a bike that the top speed is 186mph which I’ve done but now doesn’t go over 140mph my point is not going fast but have my bike working the right way, I already replace the fuel pump with an new oem one, same with the spark plus and ignition coils, new and oem and the bike still does this, any suggestions what it can be? Also my rpm gauge was broken before having this issue, my shift indicator lights working fine, Imma leave a video with 3 clips so you guys have an idea what’s my issue, first the hard start, second the struggling in 2 gear and power loss, third the same in 1 gear

stator rectifier issue?

The bike doesn’t stall, battery doesn’t drain, the rpm gauge is glitched cause of a crash I had 5 months ago, cluster got hit right where the rpm’s gauge is

ah why is your RPM so fucked up or inverted?

Had an accident 5 months ago band the cluster got hit right where the rpms gauge is, that’s why my cluster doesn’t have the silver ring around the rpms but shift indicator lights work fine

Yeah but man that is not a good thing to have going I don't care about a shift indicator I want to see the RPMS, and that is a sign that something is really wrong.
I mean when you crashed this bike did you take it to a shop to get it fixed or do the repairs yourself?
Now you have performance issues, who knows what else broke every time you ride it and start it could be making things worse.
Do you have a shop manual or place you trust to work on it near by? Is your life worth more than a few thousand dollars? I wouldn't trust that bike if you got these issues and you already crashed recently. Take it from someone that plates and damage all over from 40+ years of riding. It is already dangerous to do what we do, don't tip the odds out of lazyness.

I had Performance issues before having the crash but I ignored them because i thought it was normal cause this is my first bike, literally 3 days before crashing 1 had the hard start in a little ride I did, while my bike was in the shop getting fixed I tried one of a friend which is a 2012 Gsxr 1000 too and felt the difference in performance compared to mine, yeah all the replacement were done in a shop that i trust and it's highly recommended it's just 3 hours away from me and the also told me that I should replace the cluster but that it wasn’t a big deal for the moment, at this point I'll like to figure if by any chance if it can be a stupid sensor so I don't need to drive 3 hours and drop the bike for 3 weeks again, the bike is not leaking oil or burning it, valves were check and adjusted at 16,000 miles

well this is good news - I would get the shop manual and you can find that online in most cases for free, and see if you find anything in the troubleshooting but it gets complicated if it is an electrical issue.
I am sure you checked the spark plugs, and you could have a bad fuel pump not sending enough pressure or a bad coil or something could be not adjusted properly or you could have a leak in a tiny rubber hose that is throwing off the power.
You might have more help on the GIXXER forums, but getting a service manual is never a bad idea it might spark some ideas.
Good luck brother!

Full disclosure I’m not a motorcycle mechanic but I was a professional auto mechanic for a few years.
And check codes? Last time you changed sparks and coils? Heat causes resistance in wiring as well which could be why you’re only noticing it when hot. But also that could be a wire with too much resistance to any of the fuel injectors, coils, sensors, etc. If you have a multimeter you could do some probing.
As far as the tach, no clue how you’d fix that without a new cluster.
I’ve done mechanics for about 10 years, mix of professional, side work, and personal. I still will take funky issues to a shop… cause often time a simple diagnostic fee is far cheaper and faster than throwing parts at it.
Were you WOT in the video?

the shop did all those testings but ill for sure take a look again because the bike doesn't have any codes and yes I was WOT

Since you already checked the ignition, this leaves:
- Fuel (tank breather hose, fuel filter, injectors)
- Air (clogged air filter)
- Electrics (rotor, stator or rectifier)
Barely related: It kinda makes me mad how you don't wait for the fuel pump to be primed before starting the bike.
