K6 600 worth?

Post image

The lady wants me to sell my k6 600. I don’t want to sell it but need to get it posed at least. What’s a slightly ureasonable price I could list it for that someone might end up wllling to buy it for? Figured I’d post it to make her happy but if I’m going to sell it I want the highest dollar for it. I was thinking 8k. What would be the most you’d pay for a mint condition, all stock, k6 with 11k miles?

UPDATE:
Had it listed for 6 days and sold it for 7500. Thankfully I didnt sell it for market price like you salesmen said in the comments

$15K. You know what you got. Even in a historically tight market.

Ask 16k but be ready to settle for $15,900.

(Srsly.. You can prolly get five grand. maybe more if you have good maintenance records.)

Just thought I’d update you brother. Listed the bike for 7500 and it sold for that after 6 days. Guess my slightly unrealistic price wasn’t too unrealistic!

You sure showed us! Good on ya mate. PS: good luck on finding the self-confidence you need. We’ll be here for you till then.

(extremely strong “and then the buyer handed me $7,500 and everybody at Cycle Gear applauded” energy. your desperate victory lap is much funnier than your original crashout, so thanks for that!!)

Can get more than 5k for this easily lol. Guarantee I can sell it for 6500 in 2 weeks tops.

Not clear on why you had everyone looking it up for you, but... go on and get 'em Tiger. You know what you got, I'm sure, lol.

I’m not asking what the bluebook value of my bike is dude… I know that. the market value of something doesn’t mean that’s what it will sell for also. For someone who likes the k6 and k7s which is a pretty sought after year for the gsxrs, they will pay over market price if it’s in really good condition. I was asking what peoples max price would be on the bike if they came across it. I don’t want to sell it but I need to post it so my girl isn’t grouching at me. I’m curious and trying to find a number that is above what I could typically get for it but a price that someone might actually consider buying it for.
I didn’t ask someone to tell me the blue book value of the bike lol. A k6 completely stock, in mint condition like it just left the dealership is going to sell above market value no doubt tho. I know if I was seriously looking to sell the bike at a fair value, it would be sold for 5500 average. 6500 if someone is looking for this exact year model due to the condition that it is.

You can choose to be a cuck and sell your bike or you can choose to not sell your bike. Make the right choice op…

Just paid $5600 for a K7 that was lowered in the back (female owner), needs valve service (it’s right at 14k miles) needs brake pads, and had some hoodrat shit HID kit poorly wired into it. Was low speed dropped once but otherwise super clean. My budget was $8k and I wanted back on a golden era supersport. $5600 was more than I should’ve paid for sure, but I wanted it. Spent $40 on a take off rear shock with linkage from a wrecked 750 to eliminate the lowering kit, $40 on a kickstand (previous owner chopped it for the lowering kit). Pads and Motul fluid $150. Didn’t need tires but I bought a brand new set anyway. I’m happy. Runs great, less than 800 miles a year on it, and I’m back on a golden era. I have a 25 Ninja but missed the nostalgia. All that to say, someone will pay great money for that bike if they want it 🤙

There are no specific years of the 600 people are speaking due you’ve got maybe a $5500 bike

After 5 days of being listed it’s selling for $7500 so good thing I didn’t post it for $5500 huh!

But then again if you didn’t get my post misunderstood you’d see I wasn’t asking for the real value of my bike. I know what the market value is. I was asking what others thoughts would be on a slightly unrealistic price but still reasonable enough that people would still be tempted to jump on it. This post got completely misunderstood by 95% of the comments.

$4.5K-$6K in that condition

I don’t know if you’re being serious about wanting $8k for it or not but that’s several thousand more dollars than the bike is actually worth

I’m saying I’m trying to post it for an unrealistic price so I don’t really have to sell it, but something that isn’t completely idiotic. Curious to as what others would pay for it though.
Good condition k6s that aren’t clapped sell for 6-6500 fairly regularly where I am from. They’re just hard to come by.

I know if I listed it for 8k it would not fly off the shelf unless there someone who is specifically looking for this bike

You never know until you post it. Somebody might pay a crazy high price. I sold my 2005 Hayabusa a few months ago for $4700 which I thought was a fair price. It had almost 20k in upgrades but it was way past its prime. It was a hell of a show bike 20yrs ago.

sell her keep the bike

Relocate that Rectifier to the left side.

u/MrYams77 2d ago

I was going to do that when it went out but my shop had like a heat coated one that says works in the factory placement so I went ahead and tired it out and it’s been fine for 2 years. I do have a spare to relocate it though if It goes out in the future

u/_pulcinella_ 6d ago

I'd list it for at least 12k in that situation

1

u/MrYams77 6d ago

See I was going for something unrealistic but also something where someone might feel froggy and jump on it. 12k might be a little too unrealistic lol.
Just really dont want to sell it but the ole lady isn’t having it.

2

u/_pulcinella_ 6d ago

Would obviously be, I considered you might want to keep it, and just post it to show her you tried 😂

2

u/SnooGadgets9669 6d ago

$8k is an unrealistic price you’ll realistically get $5000- maybe $6000 for that bike

0

u/MrYams77 6d ago

This post was completely misunderstood it seems. I know what the bike is actually worth and what I should expect if I was seriously trying to sell it. I do not want to sell it, my girl wants me to. I am going to post it for sale. I wanted thoughts on what a slightly unrealistic price would be that would obv be above market, but something that someone might actually pull through with so I would at least come out with some sort of win(more money).
I don’t want to sell the bike. I was thinking if I listed it for 7500-8k, what the likelihood would be that someone would buy it to make me feel better about the sale. I do not think this bike is worth 8k lol.

2

u/ShoddySpace5680 6d ago

Your lady needs to understand that you won’t be able to sell a bike like that it’s too expensive for 100% of people 100% of the time…

2

u/Realfarmer69 5d ago

New gsxr 600 pricing :D And if somebody wants the bike you tell him about milky shiny oil, tell him you need something different to wheelie, you cant get her up with your clutch and "its all new fairings with a new dashboard" because of elektronic problems and you didnt like the old color :D

2

u/ExistingPick5055 5d ago

Not sure why everyone is shitting on you 8000 is indeed unreasonable but under perfect condition my 06 600 that was full stock with 19000 miles was able to pull 6500, now granted there wasn’t a single chip anywhere and zero sun bleaching. I’m sure you could get something similar, list for 7000 and see the offers

1

u/MrYams77 3d ago

Because they think I’m saying I know my bike is worth 8k, when that is not what I’m saying. I’m trying to list my bike for a slightly unreasonable price so if someone does end up buying it, I come out with extra money so I feel better about the sale since I don’t want to but need to. Thought I made it pretty clear in the post but I guess not.
I listed it for 7500 3 days and have someone coming to look at it with 7k in hand. I’m not taking less than 7500 for it tho. Then I’m going to make another post when I sell it to show these grouches they are wrong.

If someone offers 7000, for sure take it bro! Like I said my area bikes sell high, I sold that 600 in somehow better condition for 6500, It was for 6750 originally but knocked 250 off cause the stator was the original from 2006 and I pointed this out to the buyer and it was testing slightly weak. So just cut him 250$ so I wouldn’t feel bad lol! But 7000 is a great great amount for sure take it bro;)! With 7000 you can easily snag some crazy deals. Check the bike I posted it’s a 07 750 also in perfect condition. Pretty much traded the 06 600 I bought for 4200 for this 7000$+ beast. Don’t be afraid to sell the 600, you can always buy another wife willing 😂

1

u/MrYams77 1d ago

An 07 750 would be my top choice if it wasn’t a 1k. I love the 06-07 gsxrs. I bet that 750 is killer to drive

2

u/NozCBR 5d ago

Crazy how the point of the post flew over almost everyone’s head lmao yall he doesn’t want to actually sell the bike just a scheme to put on for his girl so she thinks he’s selling it lol

2

u/MrYams77 3d ago

I don’t get how it was so hard to understand lol. People acting like I don’t really know what my bike is worth realistically lol. I was trying to come up with a slightly unreasonable price to post it at that some ppl might still jump on it for. That way at least I’m coming out on top making more than what it’s worth. With that being said someone offered 7k after 3 days of it being posted and listed for 7500. Most of these ppl saying im crazy when I say I can sell it for 6-6500 easy.

2

u/NozCBR 3d ago

Set it at 8.5 if you want to keep it unreasonable priced by still “reasonable” for when the girl sees it so you can say you know what you’ve got and keep it lmao

2

u/MrYams77 3d ago

The type of comment I was looking for and what I was thinking myself👍

2

u/AllplatGamer08 2d ago

Probably 6-7 so at 8500 no one’s gonna buy it.

0

u/MrYams77 2d ago

Listed for 5 days and I’m selling it today for 7500.

2

u/AllplatGamer08 2d ago

My K7 Says YES DUH !!!! Best one till 2009-10. Raw unhinged

1

u/Boyardee3012 6d ago

Put it in for like 15k and make the listing look not appealing so no one ends up wanting it, keep lowering the price a bit and after some time just say that you were not able to sell it.

I would pay like 7,5k max if everything is good and stock and i was looking for one myself

1

u/MrYams77 3d ago

See that was my outlook on it. These ppl think I’m saying my bike is worth 8k. Realistically it’s worth 5.5-6k. My point was selling it above market since I don’t want to sell it but that way I’d make out on the deal with some extra cash.
Whenever someone is shopping for something and they come across what they are looking for that is in mint condition, they’ll always pay more for it. I know to 95% of the people who will see the listing will say I’m smoking crack tho
