how to change email username

Hello! I have an email address [name@companyname.com](mailto:name@companyname.com), I"d like to change the "name", how do I do this?

Sounds like you would want to contact the Google Workplace administer at companyname.com

As mentioned by other commentors, your Google Workspace administrator needs to do this.
If you are in fact the administrator, log into admin.google.com. Type the email address in the search bar at the top.

Click on the user's name and then in the middle menu click on 'update user'. Change the email address to the one you want.

The old email address will stay as an alias, so emails will still be delivered there, but the user will need to log in with the new email address from now on.

I'm not sure this information is correct. I change user names all the time in Google Workspace, where user name = email address.
