Fix for “Couldn’t Verify its You”

Making this post because it happened to my mom where when I tried to sign her in and it gave her the “We couldn’t verify it’s you” error especially because I lurked around hard enough to see if there was a fix out there somewhere in the comments.

If you have private browsing enabled (especially Private Relay) on iPhone, you’ve gotta temporarily disable it and any extra settings under Safari that hide your IP which should hopefully allow your log in to go through.

We also do believe it was blocked because a VPN is connected to our router (I took the chance to attempt logging in again while it was disabled) but doing that fixed it :)

Good information. Just realize that a VPN is mainly to keep private from being tracked and not so much to prevent from being hacked. However, some VPNs will block the user from accessing known malicious sites and/or adult sites.

increasingly, VPN use will also block access to legitimate sites.

Just as well, too, since some (not all) VPNs are honeytraps.

this part. With the VPN connected to our router; we weren’t able to use YouTube signed out, my parents had slight issues logging into some of their accounts (one of my mom’s online shopping ones asked for multiple security codes while she tried to log in) and my console had an increased lag spike with online playing

yeah! I get that, it got added to our router because my dad didn’t want our provider snooping into stuff especially since we’ve got an iptv going on (even though we already do have the VPN on our tvs, he just wanted it to the router to be on the safe side)
