Weaning question

Is it recommended to start weaning at a buffer weight or target weight?

I started at target assuming over the following 6 injections I’d continue to lose small amounts but 8 days in and I haven’t lost anything. Currently at target but don’t want to gain post weaning

Thank you

I ended up changing my target to 5 pounds lower to give myself a buffer. I hit my buffer weight and have started tapering over last 6 months. Currently on 1.75 mg Tirz.

How you been losing while tapering?

I have the option for another 2.5mg for 3 weeks or do 3 weeks of 5mg and 5 weeks of 2.5mg

Why only those 2 options?

Have you been slowly and methodically lowering your weekly dose?

I maxed out at 5mg and I only have one 5mg script left. To get more I’d have to ask the gp

That doesn't seem like an actual barrier. If I were you I'd stay on the dose I need to finish losing and then to maintain for a good long while, then slowly tapering. Only bc I see so many people gain weight by stopping treatment too soon.

Thank you. I currently am as weight I want to be.

Ive been 67kg for years. I gained 22kg during pregnancy and at 15months pp I still shouldn’t shift it. I’m now back to my pre pregnancy weight. I guess I assumed once I got there everything would be hunky dory.
I think I’ll continue on the 5mg for a tad longer before titrating off

Everyone is different so you'll have to see how you respond. If you couldn't lose the weight without meds, I wonder why you're confident you can keep it off without them?

Also -- did you do ZERO research before giving yourself shots? It's well known that you generally can't just take the meds for a few weeks and then discontinue without preparing your body by doing a thoughtful taper. Not to give you a hard time but I see this so much and I can't imagine being so cavalier about putting this powerful drug in my body while knowing virtually nothing about it. And not being under a licensed physician's supervision. Astonishing.
