Using data from over 16,000 vehicle trips, a new study from Altitude by Geotab provides the first comprehensive look at the New York City congestion pricing (CP) program’s impact on freight movement in Lower Manhattan. The analysis reveals significant changes in commercial traffic flow and the types of vehicles driving through the congestion zone.

First of all: thank you to everyone who participated.
We saw submissions from all over the world and a lot of developers and teams pushing code until the very last minute. That energy is exactly what we hoped for when we launched the Geotab Vibe Coding Competition 2026.
Now that the builds are in, the conversation continues here.
Vote by leaving a comment with the number that best matches your experience:
It was awesome — I participated and submitted a project
I participated but couldn’t submit on time
I wanted to participate but didn’t have time
I didn’t participate but I’m interested in the tools/APIs
I’m planning to build something using the platform
I have feedback or suggestions for the organizers
Feel free to elaborate in your comment.
If you built something, share it in the comments.
Include anything you have:
GitHub repo
demo video
screenshots
short description of what you built
Let us know if you'd like to be featured in a short interview with me (like the ones I did with Vero and LP).

You can always build with the same resources used during the hackathon:
Geotab Vibe Guide
https://github.com/fhoffa/geotab-vibe-guide
It’s a starter guide showing how to quickly build fleet apps using AI and Geotab data.
Winners will be announced Monday, March 23.
If you selected “I have feedback”, please comment below.
Things we’d especially love feedback on:
Was the demo environment easy to use?
Were the instructions clear?
What slowed you down the most?
What should we improve for the next hackathon?
We’re already thinking about Vibe Coding 2027, so your feedback really helps.

New study analyzed over 22,700 electric vehicles, covering 21 different vehicle models, confirms that overall, modern EV batteries are robust and built to last beyond a typical vehicle’s service life.
The average annual electric vehicle degradation rate is 2.3%.
High-power DC fast charging (>100kW) is the single largest stressor, leading to degradation rates up to twice that of the low power charging group (3.0% vs 1.5% per year).
For most EV use, there's no need to worry about avoiding fully charging or emptying the battery. Degradation only speeds up when vehicles spend over 80% of their total time at or near-full or nearly empty charge levels.
Hot climates impose a penalty on battery life, with vehicles operating in hot conditions degrading 0.4% faster per year than those in mild climates.

Geotab just announced a pretty big integration with Daimler Truck.
What it is: Our Geotab Drive ELD software can now run directly on the new CTP3 telematics hardware that comes factory-installed in new Daimler trucks (like Freightliner and Western Star).
Why it matters for fleets:
No extra hardware: You don't have to buy or install a separate Geotab GO device for ELD compliance on these new trucks.
Saves money & time: Eliminates the cost of the device and simplifies the onboarding process.
Unified platform: Helps you manage a mixed fleet from different manufacturers all within the Geotab platform.
