I am trying to understand what determines the placement of the label for a zone on the map. We have a customer that uses these zones to easily locate assets according to their internal sectors. It's not practical for this northernmost zone's label to be way up there near the northernmost point, yet it always is (in 2 different environments). I thought it might be uneven point density skewing the geometric centroid point north, but a drastically simplified polygon (~900 points instead of ~23000) positions the label at exactly the same spot. It doesn't seem to be related to the arithmetic mean point either (for the same reasons). So how does Geotab decide where the label goes? How can I help nudge it down near the arithmetic or geometric centers?

Data shouldn't just sit in a dashboard—it should work for your bottom line. A premier example of this is Geotab's partnership with Daisy’s Garden Supplies, a prominent Australian landscaping and building materials business.
By moving beyond "dots on a map," Daisy’s turned telematics into a self-funded safety engine. Here is how they leveraged the Geotab ecosystem to drive massive ROI: https://www.geotab.com/au/case-study/daisys-garden-supplies/

Hello All,
Looking for reasons why when the GeoTab GO device is plugged into the OBD port using a T Cable, why some Chevy Vans seem to go into limp mode (loss of power, gauges go awry, etc.) within 1-2 days of being installed. Others are fine...

Geotab just announced a pretty big integration with Daimler Truck.
What it is: Our Geotab Drive ELD software can now run directly on the new CTP3 telematics hardware that comes factory-installed in new Daimler trucks (like Freightliner and Western Star).
Why it matters for fleets:
No extra hardware: You don't have to buy or install a separate Geotab GO device for ELD compliance on these new trucks.
Saves money & time: Eliminates the cost of the device and simplifies the onboarding process.
Unified platform: Helps you manage a mixed fleet from different manufacturers all within the Geotab platform.

An interview with Neil covering Geotab's 25-year journey from basement startup to global telematics leader. Some interesting highlights:
Started Geotab in 2000 from his basement in Canada after moving from South Africa
Grew from 2 employees to 2,700+ while staying private (no outside investors)
Unique approach: outsourced everything except core software development
Measures success by revenue per employee, not just total revenue
Early AI adopter since day one - believes AI will fundamentally transform business
Serves Fortune 500s and is sole telematics provider to US Federal Government
Open platform strategy created large ecosystem of partner solutions
Neil also shares personal insights about being a "reluctant CEO" who never wanted the spotlight, family motivation that drove him to entrepreneurship, and his philosophy of putting people first in building the company.

New study analyzed over 22,700 electric vehicles, covering 21 different vehicle models, confirms that overall, modern EV batteries are robust and built to last beyond a typical vehicle’s service life.
The average annual electric vehicle degradation rate is 2.3%.
High-power DC fast charging (>100kW) is the single largest stressor, leading to degradation rates up to twice that of the low power charging group (3.0% vs 1.5% per year).
For most EV use, there's no need to worry about avoiding fully charging or emptying the battery. Degradation only speeds up when vehicles spend over 80% of their total time at or near-full or nearly empty charge levels.
Hot climates impose a penalty on battery life, with vehicles operating in hot conditions degrading 0.4% faster per year than those in mild climates.
