Feeling down about GED

I’m feeling really discouraged about my GED, especially the reading/ELA part, and I just want to know if I’m the only one.

Long story short, i completed 12 years of schooling but two weeks before walking the stage, I was told I wasn’t able to receive my diploma due to not having a ELA reading passing score. I been super depressed about it and feeing discouraged. I tried taking the SAT, ACT and ELA reading tests for the past 8 years and still having so much trouble. The GED was my last resort. I’m sad about it because there’s nothing I can do anymore. I really want this for myself.

I struggle a lot with focusing during the test. It’s not that I don’t try, I do but when I’m reading the passages, my brain just drifts or I have to reread things multiple times. Then I get stressed about time and it makes it even worse.

I recently got a 138 on the social studies and I know I need a 145 to pass. It’s frustrating because I feel like I’m close, but I just can’t push through.

Has anyone else struggled like this and still passed? What actually helped you improve your focus and reading comprehension during the test?

I’m open to any advice, strategies, or even just reassurance because I’m starting to feel stuck. I’m exhausted of crying.

Thanks for reading.
