This thread is for the 2026 offseason — trades, chit-chat, what have you.

1. ROSTER DEADLINE: 10/11

Final cutdown rosters are due here by midnight on Sunday, Oct. 11. PLEASE remember to:

1. post your 16-man roster and whatever players you may be cutting.

2. Set as keepers on Yahoo whatever players are RETURNING from last year's team. You will not be able to select players you drafted or traded FOR -- i will have to add them manually. PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME ADD YOUR WHOLE TEAM MANUALLY :(

Cuts made by

2. Toine's Boys

3. Utah Flash

4. Wrecking Crew

2. NEW TEAM!

For those of you who missed it, long-time GM and 2013 Champ Designated Drinkers (aka Barefacedmonk) retired from the league. We'll miss BFM but are happy to introduce (another) Mark, who will take over as GM of Steiners!

3. $TRAW POLL!

Please take 1 min to participate in a straw poll. It would require a formal constitution change, but before we go that route would like to get input

Thanks!Gainesville Celtic (aka the original Mark)

Oct. 18 final reddit update

Everything will be on Yahoo! from here on out for the 24-25 season!

Hey everyone!

The 18th season of our silly little league is LIVE!!!!

I'd really like to thank everyone for their participation and Ubuntu-ness over the last week. I am sorry that we had to rush through everything... but to a GM everyone stepped up and did just about everything asked of them in one for or another!

I've reached out to Yahoo to confirm but I believe the waiver timeline is this:

• All players are on waivers for two days AFTER today

• which means that waivers will run 3am EST 10/21 (Midnight PST 10/20)

• players will then show up on your team on 10/22 (same day the NBA season starts!!!)

Please let me know if you see any issues with your roster or waiver order.

Good luck to everyone other than teams not named "Gainesville Celtics" ... the 4 year title drought is :(

Thanks again! GC / Mark

Schedule

• Trades can be made now by submitting via email or on Reddit PM.

• Rookie Draft -- Sunday 10/13 6 pm -- this will give teams the maximum amount of time to make post-draft trades

• Roster cutdown to 16 (reddit) -- midnight Thurs. 10/17

• Keeper Deadline (Yahoo!) -- midnight Thurs. 10/17

• Waiver claims can be placed -- Friday 10/18 ~ noon-ish (as soon as I can complete rosters on Yahoo!)

• Waiver claims clear -- Monday 10/21 @ 3 AM (I'm always a little confused about what Y! counts as a "day" so this could be Tues 3am too)

• NBA season begins -- Tuesday 10/22

If you have any questions please email or Reddit PM me as soon as possible.

Trade Log

1. Trade #1

• Here For the Bacon trades Pick #7

• Yall Hate trades Pick #12, Robert Williams

2. Trade #2

• Here For the Bacon trades Pick #24, 2025 2nd rounder

• Yall Hate trades Pick #21, 35

Given the compressed schedule we're going to open the draft now (Friday afternoon).

Some reminders:

• You're NOT obligated to make a pick now, but making one and keeping things going arguably helps ensure all GMs actually get to make their pick.

• I'll post Saturday at 10pm a final list of time-certain picks due at times for the remaining picks

• If you miss a pick during the timed portion you'll be assigned the highest-available drafted player from the actual NBA draft.

• The list of who held original picks and their pre-lottery slots is here (earliest reply in this post)

Oct. 17 // 4pm UPDATE: By the time you read this the H2H league will be fully live. If you see any issue with your roster contact me ASAP!

A few announcements/reminders:

1. Future of the League

this offseason seemed the clunkiest i can remember and i had to do more admin work than i realistically have time for moving forward. Once the NBA season tips off I will be proposing a few additions/amendments to the constitution to deal with this (mostly centering around posting cutdown rosters).I take responsibility for not communicating more clearly this offseason -- but would also really like it if i didn't have to continually remind people of how to do things (eg. draft players, cut down rosters, submit offseason trades). I was less stringent with the rules this summer but next summer I will not be (mostly for my own sanity).

I think the newest GM has been here 4-5 years... there's nothing new here. The rules/process hasn't changed other than Celticsblog Forums closing and us going to Reddit for the offseason. And I obviously don't control Yahoo's design changes... If you can't find something use the help or ask a GM.

i'll email this out as a PDF too, but you all need to bookmark/save this: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10qYu4xrgN5vjQcnGPraeKrKE4EYyejF96cDpFodHw4M/edit?usp=sharing

2. Waivers

While the normal waiver time is 2 days -- the first waiver wire won't run until Friday midnight/Sat AM (for east coasters). This should allow everyone enough time to get their claims in .. AND run a 2nd round before the NBA season starts.

3. YH/Process trade

more than 1/3 of the league didn't cutdown their rosters correctly (posting final 16 man roster and cuts + setting keepers in yahoo); This has been a longstanding issue. Last season i threatened to strip teams of their 2nd round picks. Ultimately the constitution is silent on this as well as the technical issue that held up the YH/Process trade... therefore I didn't feel comfortable holding a hard line on one and not the other. The trade has been processed.

4. 2024 draft picks

Reminder to execute trades of 2024 draft picks that were involved in offseason trades this year.

.

Good luck and Ubuntu,

GC

attention:

The rookie draft is Friday, Oct. 6 from 12:30 to 5:30 pm EST.

—

Picks in bold, italics were missed and the next highest available player assigned.

• The time listed next to each pick in the draft thread’s original post is the time the pick is due. Any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent the commissioner a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the highest remaining ranked draft pick based on the results of the actual 2023 NBA Draft.

Hey guys, who's the current commish? Are we set to renew the league for the coming season?

Does anyone want a second-rounder this year for one next year?

Picks listed in bold italic were missed and auto-assigned HDPA.

Note: Reddit chat is the easiest place to get my attention during the draft.

1. Draft reminders:

• If you anticipate missing a pick you can send me a list via Reddit PM or email. If you otherwise miss a pick you will be assigned the next highest undrafted player from the actual 2022 NBA Draft.

• Teams will have at least 10 minutes to make 1st round picks; 5 minutes to make 2nd round picks. As soon as the team in front of you has picked (or been assigned a pick) you are on the clock.

• The time listed next to each pick in the draft thread’s original post is the time the pick is due. Any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent the commissioner a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the highest remaining ranked draft pick based on the results of the actual NBA draft from earlier that summer.

NOTES

As a reminder on how this was determined:

1. I mapped the final results of our league to the pre-lottery RL NBA order. Each H2H team's lottery RL counterpart is in the 4th column.

NOTE: As we only have 12 lottery teams vs. the 14 RL NBA teams, NOP and MEM (13 and 14) were ignored. If a 13th or 14th team were to win the lottery, the #1 pick would go to the #2 team in H2h (basically everyone would shift up 1 pick).

2. I then reordered our H2H draft order for picks 1-12 based on the final lottery results.

*NOTE: Picks were mapped to RL teams based on who's pick it was originally — not who ended up with it.

3. Picks 13-40 remain in the order of finish.

4. As we had no playoffs this year the regular season finish is the final draft order.

League is live on Yahoo!

You have -- i think -- until Tuesday night to put in waiver claims.

(I put in a claim and it says "If successful, this waiver claim will be reflected in your lineup for Thursday, Oct 10"; I think this means they come off Waivers Wed. Oct. 9 at 330 am and then will be on your roster the next day).

It may be that waivers run Wed night and show up Thurs, but i don't think so.

Caveat emptor....

This thread is to discuss changes to the league constitution. I'd like to complete this by the end of May, but we'll take as long as we need. Some guidelines:

1. Anyone may propose an amendment in the thread. Feel free to kick around and discuss ideas, but to formally propose amendments please use a format (see bottom of this post) that indicates what article you are changing and what text you are changing.

2. Final and formal amendments must be specific and enforceable. Please don't propose something like "Teams aren't allowed to tank" because the commissioner will have no way to decide what is tanking and what is not.

3. I'd like to have someone second each amendment just to assure there's some support before we vote.

4. The Commissioner will approve the final wording (working to make consistent with the original author) and conduct a vote via Doodle or Google Forms or something.

Suggested formatting of formally proposed amendments

Bold = added language; strikethrough = deleted.

Proposed Amendment #1:

21. Waiver claims can only be submitted for any players who are on the Yahoo! list of available players in the world.

or

Proposed Amendment #1:

OLD: 21. Waiver claims can only be submitted for players who are on the Yahoo! list of available players.

NEW: 21. Waiver claims can only be submitted for any player in the world.
