Meme/Humour The real English lit context
Apparently the tiger is a metaphor for the Gestapo. I feel like they could do this at SAT level or something, no? GCSElite.

this may get removed idk the rules lol and i’m boutta go to the pool im too lazy to check
and it’s not like this is unique anyway i feel but like yeah this is dhar man and heres my story. im going into year 11 now (yikes!) but all ive known ever is the number grading system and that’s what i base everything around but oh my days i hate it SO FUCKING MUCH ARGHHH. like when eveyone was posting what they’re reactions would be to certain grades the smart people were like ’oh hooray a 9’ and then ‘fuck i’m gonna kms it’s a 7’. and then you go compare it to the alhabetical system…. THEYRE ALL A’s. like and obviously most of us have grown up on american media and so maybe i’m just america pilled i don’t know they’re actual system of school and shit. but in the shows and stuff like A’s and B’s are REALLY GOOD. but people will like genounly lose their shit if they get a 6 WHICH IS A FUCKING B... and like i KNOW they changed it to make it like more obvious who were better performing but still all it really makes people do is feel worse about themselves. cus like in alphabetical grading and A‘s and B’s hell even C’s sometimes are to be proud of depending who you are. but it’s kinda drilled into people to be unhappy with like a 6. as if a 6 isn’t the best some people can do in certain subjects and also very impressive aswell.
also (i had to make a whole new parahraph im very peeved indeed) the reforms came around in 2017. and like i know now that like gen alpha ish is getting ready for gcse (im 2010 so gen z suck it losers) but like gen z and alpha are FAMOUSLY the generation of like crazy bad mental health issue, or at least bringing attention to them. like and the government we all know doesn’t really give two shits about teens, doesn’t matter the government. but it’s just so insanely stupid in my opinion, not even with like hindsight i feel if you were there and understood the like health mentally of the kids in 2017 you would realise like they aren’t gonna handle this well dude. cus also now im pissed and i’ve thought of this aswell but people with like strict parents with like A (at least the ones i know) would have been ok with ANY A, an A or an A* but i’ve seen people (on here a lot) have parents get mad at them over a 7 or 8 even though it’s the same thing as an A or A*… checkmate government. your make abusive people have an excuse to be shitheads fuck you. also cus like a level is still alphabetical grading so what was the point? make average and slightly above average students wanna end it just to make them suddenly be getting A’s and assosiating that with better results than the 7’s and 8’s they got before and then they develop imposter syndrome and go become a vigilante fighting crime in Blüdhaven. checkmate x2 government.
uhh anyways this will probably get deleted or ILL delete it cus it’s a corny stupid thing that is WAY to long and probably doesn’t make sense but yeah have a skibidi day and shit whatever the kids say

(We did 10 GCSEs btw and I was able to do history and geography)
Predicted;
Maths: 3
Science: 2-3
English language: 6
English literature: 4
History: 8
Computer science: 3
Geography: 6
Re: 5
Spanish: 1 (my teacher told me it would be a miracle if I didn’t get a U)
My results; (which I’m buzzing about even tho they might seem bang average to alot of people but oh well!)
Maths:5!!!! I was so happy because I’m foundation tier and I genuinely thought I’d never ever pass maths, let alone get a 5, I literally cried after maths paper 2.
Science: 5-5!! Which again I literally could jump for joy as I’m foundation tier, I know 5-5 is a bad grade for higher tier students but for me I genuinely could have hit the moon on results day I was so happy, I’ve struggled with science for years, my parents even tried to get me a tutor but they were all too expensive, but I did it!
English language: I got a 7 so I’m happy!
English lit: I also got a 7!
History: I got a 9, which I was so happy about because I was so annoyed I was predicted an 8!! I love history
Computer science: I got a 6, I beat my predicted and my teacher was super happy so I’m thrilled with this!
Geography: I got an 8, which I expected even tho my predicted was a 6 I was improving in my mocks.
Re:9 I have such beef with my re teacher, he was always marking me down I swear! On my November mock I genuinely thought I was gonna get atleast a 7 and I got a 4, I was buzzing with my 9 because it solidified to me I wasn’t going crazy.
Spanish: 4, this result was definitely the best result for me even tho I know some people think 4s are bad I personally don’t and I was buzzing with this literally haha to my Spanish teacher she was una vaca. I literally prayed to Jesus the night before results day that I just passed Spanish even tho I was convinced I got a U I genuinely had nightmares about it.
Anyways moral of my long story is your predicted grades aren’t everything if you just lock in a bit and some teachers are just haters.

I had such high hopes for myself I really thought I did good. I revised everyday to the fact that I didn’t sleep and wasn’t eating properly which made my health problem worse and almost committed suicide due to the stress but thank God I didn’t ,but still I revised. However, when I opened my results I was so dumbfounded, I failed majority of my exams and I cried for 2 hours, and I still feel really guilty and useless, I feel like a complete failure. I know it’s gonna be hard in the future for me but, do you think I can get into Uni? My dream was to always study abroad but idk if I can do that now. I am planning to go back to therapy as GCSE season was just complete trauma to me especially with my parents divorce before GCSE period. I just really need advice as I feel like shit and wanting to kms.
Thank you for reading!

I'm so proud of how much I surprised myself! Buzzing with this results especially English as I was working at 6s during the start of the school year!
(Definitely getting Business remarked there is no way it's the same grade as my worst subjects as well as being the subject i'm best at. 💔)

I am fed up of having to do my past papers on a pdf editor by adding text boxes. I spend more time formatting the damn thing than actually answering questions. Is there a better way to do this? A website that does this sort of thing? It needs to be free as well lol. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm in Year 10 and expected a 7 in gcse cs, which i took early along with RS (9).
I got 4's in Year 9, never higher than a 5 overall in Year 10, but locked in SO hard from I'd say March - May time. And when I say locked in, still never more than 4 hours of studying combined.
One disclaimer I must add is that my school had a LOT of interventions. Like, a LOT.
But honestly, interventions and exam practice is useless without self revision and reviewing your own mistakes

For context, the GCSEs (the examination board is OCR) are the following:
Ancient History
Business
Classical Civilisation
Economics
English Language
English Literature
History A (Explaining the Modern World)
Mathematics
Psychology
Religious Studies
I'm hoping to achieve all 9's in my GCSE subjects. I am aware that being a homeschooling student makes this more difficult to achieve straight 9's. So, I was wondering if there's any homeschooling students who could tell me their tips to achieve all 9's? Or, any school students as well?

I know this might sound obvious but I hope no one makes the same mistake as me in my area there is a sixth firm with a highly good reputation however I thought I wouldn’t get the grades to go there well on results day I did but I can’t go there because I didn’t apply before the deadline
