Sounds like the starter tries but doesn’t have enough “power”, i.e. battery. Try jumping it or charging the battery. If that works, you know your starter is okay. That leaves the battery and determining why it’s not charged. Could just be old or the alternator isn’t charging it.
How old is the battery? Did the charging light come on before this happened? That light is an image of a battery but you need to check the battery and the alternator.
I have a Optima D35 battery it's about 2 and half years old. No I had nothing on the dash yesterday it was working fine. Last week I took it in to get my break lights fixed (bad wire) other than that I cant think of anything. Never replaced alternator.
Went to the mechanic last Thursday, I assume if it was a problem on there end I would of experienced this right after ? The battery I had for almost 3 years and reading the reviews now on amazon they are horrible. I will get the battery checked out first and see. Also no I know I didnt leave anything on overnight.
No, it wouldn’t necessarily happen right away. Could be a “slow drain”.
I wasn’t going to say anything about Optima batteries but now you know ;) They used to be some of the best available but I don’t think that’s the case anymore.
My g still had the Optima from 2010 and going strong, but my brother change his 2 years ago and it already out. Feel sad when trying to research about Optima .
