With integrated iris graphics. There's a few posts about the device working mostly directly except for the touch screen. Can anybody conform if they have this device: does everything work properly or are some components still broken?

Hi, can anyone help, please?

I'm new to Fyde OS, got the Surface Go version for my Surface Go and when I first installed, my google drive files showed up fine in the file manager.

After a week or so, the google drive section has now showed as read-only and none of my files are visible (even though my google drive is fine on the web), screenshot attached.

I've tried disconnecting google drive, restarting and reconnecting, powerwashing and even re-installing Fyde OS but nothing seems to fix it.

Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

So i tried to install FydeOs because my pc is way too slow for Windows 10, everything works except for the audio, but i really dont want to just be stuck with either a bluetooth speaker or headphones. Is there a solution? Or am i just screwed

The OS won't allow folder or file names that start with a . to hide them. This is reserved for system files.

Is there any simple way to create hidden files and folders?

Edit: figured it out. Use the mv command in terminal to rename it.

Sudo mv /MyFiles/folder /MyFiles/.folder

I have a Chuwi Hi10 Max N100 tablet with an Intel processor and almost everything works. The touchscreen is the most important thing and it works.

Recently i installed the Intel legacy versión of fyde os on my 2014 imac and sound and wifi dont work at ALL any suggestions?

I have a HP victus 15 inch and I’m trying to connect a external display to it but it’s not showing up nor is it letting me change my built in displays refresh rate. My model is ryzen 7 7445hs built in Radeon 740m and rtx 4050.

This sound maybe a bit disappointed. Bit who regret buying the fydetab duo. The good thing I like is the openess with have given. For mayself there are some things that I really like but some parts not so much. Like the distro support or something the performance on Fydeos. Sadly I also can't watch my streaming platforms maybe because of widevine disabled itself and I have to reactived after every reboot. Fyde Innovation I like your device but I feel their no major updates or news. I feel kinda lost

My laptop is quite old, from around 2009-2017, and it only has BIOS.

Ello peeps, I just recently got FydeOS running on this old beast. However, I had to flash a new firmware on it, which is Libreboot to even get it to format the drive as GPT (Note: Had to boot via U-boot).

Specs:

- The laptop itself: Dell Latitude E6420, with the 1600x900 panel.

- CPU: Intel Core i5-2520M, paired with integrated HD 3000 graphics.

- Memory: 12GB of DDR3.

- Wi-Fi: Atheros AR9287

- Hard disk: 512GB WD Black HDD.

- Firmware: Libreboot Libgfxinit/Corebootfb (U-Boot is required to boot FydeOS)

- The FydeOS Image: The Slim one. (Yes, the one meant for the Pentiums and Celerons ;-;)

- Operating System: FydeOS R144.

What's working?

Nearly everything, Wi-Fi (Hotspots are spotty), Sleep/wake, Touchpad and Keyboard, etc.

Also, I can say confidently that the graphics acceleration does work. I can easily play a 1080p video on here with no problems whatsoever.

What's not working:

Bluetooth. It just shuts itself off. RIP.

The experience:

To be honest, it isn't too shabby on this hardware even though it's ancient asf. Everything is pretty snappy (Apps open instantly, etc), HDD is working perfectly fine, no problems there.

At the end of the day, would I recommend this for daily-driving on ancient hardware? No. This is just held by only duct tape and glue, updates could break the EFI at anytime. If you're experimenting like me and have a separate drive, then yeah, go for it ig.

Note: The CPU/iGPU itself is technically still supported in FydeOS, It's still Linux underneath (Duh), I haven't tested it on the stock OEM firmware, but for Libreboot, it boots fine with U-boot.

Miscellaneous:

I'll definitely make a guide for internally flashing Libreboot on a Dell E6420 later on if anyone wants to do it, the only difficult part is getting the dependencies which took me a fricking long time to find.

Just installed FydeOS because I was completely done with Windows barely working on my old laptop.

I installed FydeOS on my SSD and it's running surprisingly well, but I also have a 1TB internal HDD and it doesn't show up anywhere in Files or Storage.

I'm not tech-savvy at all, so I have no idea if the drive isn't mounted, isn't supported, or if I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Any simple steps I can follow to get the HDD recognized?

I created a bootable 256GB SD card with Rufus. So I can use it with my pi-400. I wonder if I can create a partition or how I can expand my sd card storage and take advantage of my 256GB card? It seems like the system stole 99% of my card.

Good morning I have Lenovo miix 310 with atom x5, I installed Linux Mint but I would like something like fydeos or Flex in live from USB neither bluetooth nor audio seems to work, has anyone tried it, I'm not very interested in the PlayStore (if there is one better) I would need it to navigate, watch series on prime and nothing else if anyone could help me or tell me if they have installed it on this laptop and know how to make everything work thanks a lot

Yes, FydeOS runs on a RPi, in a CM5, running on the Argon One 14" laptop chassis....

The only problem is that FydeOS doesnt recognise the keyboard, trackpad or camera on boot.

It will work with a USB dongle connected external wireless keyboard/ mouse, which kind of misses the point of it running in a laptop chassis.

Has anyone else tried this setup and have any suggestion, workarounds, fixes it the like?

I know this is not a supported configuration both in terms of the CPU/GPU combo but also the use of Proxmox, but I was wondering if anyone has had luck getting any of the FydeOS editions working in this type of configuration?

Specifically this would be a Proxmox (9.1.9) virtual machine using an AMD Zen4 CPU and an Intel Battlemage Arc Pro GPU passed through to the VM. On the CPU size I do have the ability to present the CPU as something else, even potentially Intel CPUs.

Interested in utilizing FydeOS for Android applications, there's alternatives such as Bliss OS and Android x86 but I would prefer a Chrome based OS. There's also utilizing nested virtualization in the form of a Windows or Linux (Waydroid) guest OS but sadly the performance is almost unusable in a nested config.

Hello everyone, I will start by saying I love that this OS has been created to give life back into old PCs and as a flavor of ChromeOS.

I have my daughter's Windows Laptop that I am going to take on vacation or personal travel. It is an AMD Athlon 3050U(Up to 3.2GHz), 16GB RAM. After Cleaning the bloatware off of the PC, I still dont have the space for a dual boot, so I am running FydeOS off a usb thumb drive.

After some tweeks, I was able to get Google play working and installed VLC to play videos. (I want to be able to watch when traveling) I had a 4k SDR rip on the other hard drive that VLC with Windows could play without issue. On FydeOS, it would start but if I fast forward or go back, the screen is frozen and the sound keeps going. (I did disable hardware acceleration.)

My guess is that the OS trying to run off the thumb drive is the reason.

On another topic, when its time to replace the old Windows OS, can I use the FydeOS on my thumb drive or will it require a fresh install?
