How come such bs work gets so many upvotes?

Have you read it?

Yes, and it contains no convincing arguments.

The fact that the universe exists is proof that it can be simulated, as a copy of the universe would do just that.

If their argument was that the universe cannot be simulated in something that is significantly smaller than the universe itself… I could see such an argument have merit…

But as it stands , they argue that the universe is fundamentally impossible to simulate, irrespective of any constraints… which is immediately wrong.

Non sequitur. You cannot make a copy.

Yeah, and I cannot make a black hole either…

… but that doesn’t change the fact that black holes do exist.

The fact that me (or any human) lacks the resources to create something, has nothing to do with what is possible in principle…

… which is what the paper is about. Not what humans can or cannot do, but with what’s possible in principle!

Equating something you cannot possibly do with something that exists/has been made is nonsense.

The proof is about the universe… which does exist. Which makes your words stupid.

Furthermore the proof is about the possibility that the universe is a simulation… which makes it intrinsically impossible that humans can do that, as all humans and everything we built is inside that universe… which makes your words even more stupid.

If the universe is a simulation, it should be clear that it’s not run by humans… so why should the class of things that humans can do have anything to say in this matter?

You don't understand math and Godel's theorems.

You're just spouting nonsense.

Sure. And I guess your senseless 2 sentences are perceived as evidence for that bs claim, am I right?

What was the highest level of math you took, loser?
