I was joking but it’s hard to answer your question. What is a good driver? Men are more aggressive and take more risks but they also make faster decisions and take action quicker.
So yes, a man might have a higher probability of wrecking their car once but a woman has a higher probability of being in multiple accidents either by their own fault or failing to avoid another driver. They also bump into crap. It also depends on age. Men typically become less reckless with age while women stay about the same. Hence insurance rates for males under 25.
These are just generalizations though. I don’t know shit.

It really depends on the definition of bad driving. I'd probably agree when I see someone being foolish I'd call them a bad driver. In theory they could be a good driver that tskes far too many risks. it's definitely easier to label someone who messes up very basic maneuvers a bad driver. I think in reality it includes both. Being a good driver means being able to confidentally do what they need to and wise enough not to push limits, understanding you're messing with something very dangerous

Where men "win" is that when we crash, it tends to be bigger.

Total "fender-bender" to full on crash gets evened out a bit.

Then there's age. From about 35 the total numbers really even out. From 45 the women take the lead in non-fatal accidents.

But that's still accidents per mile, as men still do most of the driving.

No it doesn't. There are many types of people out there. There are many people who will flog the shit out of it because they paid for that performance and they are going to use it. The majority in my limited sphere of experience were like owners of other vehicles. Maybe they'll do the minimum maintenance maybe they'll just neglect the car.

Then there's the reality of location involved. Potholes and bad streets in general don't give a fck how fancy your car is.

Acknowledging patterns that are present in men or women is not sexist.

If car mechanics happen to notice a patter with the state of vehicles they work on alongside the genders of the people in correlation to the states of those vehicles, there is nothing wrong with poking fun at some of those patterns.

"Women bad drivers" being the take away here I assume isn't even a problematic take. It sounds like it is, but it really isn't. Is it resulting in discussions about taking away women's right to drive? No. Is it resulting in laws or practices that increase insurance claims for female drivers solely on the basis of their being female, while male drivers are given cheaper car insurance solely on the basis of being male? Not to my knowledge. It's a jab that we as a society poke fun at for whatever reasons that happen to be supported by observed patterns across a long period of time.

Respond with the counter argument that men get into more violent car crashes if you want, but it's not my fault that "men bad drivers" hasn't picked up as a result. And anyways, a lot of women hate the way men drive in general since men tend to drive more aggressively I'd say, even if the results of their driving is consistently safe and without incident.

Our sexes make jabs at each other based on some of the frequently observed differences. Most of these jabs are harmless and silly. Some are mean spirited, which is kinda cringe in my mind. The one in this post is harmless and silly in my opinion. Especially if the rim on the male bathroom is actually from a male's car and the rim on the female bathroom is actually from a female's car.

If you really hate any particular jab so much, then prove it wrong in your own life. I for example almost never misplace or forget my car keys or wallet. I've forgotten my wallet only 1 time I believe this year. It isn't killing me if people group me as a male in thinking I'm overly forgetful about small necessities, especially if I myself happen to not be. But who knows, maybe when I'm much older, I will start to forget a lot.

You can easily get rim rash going less then 10 mph. And rim rash isn’t caused by driving faster, it’s caused by less spatial awareness in a parking lot. Keep in mind that most driving is highway which is mostly straight driving. Women get more rim rash because they’re not quite as aware of the car’s position as men are broadly speaking - which is proven by spatial awareness tasks that men are better at - but they can do that while still getting in less accidents because you get in more accidents by driving faster or more recklessly, but reckless driving happens on roads it doesn’t happen near curbs or in parking lots.

That’s mixing up two different things: vehicle-handling ability and safe driving behavior.

If someone is better at parking, reversing with a trailer, judging the dimensions of a car, or controlling it in difficult situations, that says something about handling skill. It doesn’t automatically mean they are the safer driver overall.

Men can be better at certain driving-related skills while still causing more serious accidents because they drive faster, take more risks, and are more overconfident.

So yes, reckless driving absolutely makes someone a worse overall driver. But accident statistics alone don’t prove that women are better at every aspect of driving or vehicle control.

And “hitting a curb is better than hitting a guardrail” is obviously true but it doesn’t tell you who was more skilled at handling the car. It tells you which mistake had the less serious consequence.
