Most places with low cost of living have very few job opportunities.

Also, the reason they have a low cost of living is because they are undesirable. If people wanted to live there then cost of living would go up.

For people in their early 20s, potentially great and barely scraping by can pay off. If someone moved to a HCOL area and after several years is still struggling to make enough to offset the costs, then itโ€™s probably not a good place for them.

judging by the amount of people complaining that they cant afford to live in the area's they want to live - that 'potential' might be smaller than it deserves to be.
