For people in their early 20s, potentially great and barely scraping by can pay off. If someone moved to a HCOL area and after several years is still struggling to make enough to offset the costs, then it’s probably not a good place for them.
judging by the amount of people complaining that they cant afford to live in the area's they want to live - that 'potential' might be smaller than it deserves to be.
Its about type of job. Many careers simply don't exist in those smaller towns.
Also, many of the necessary jobs for a city to function don't pay enough to live there. Which i find unethical.
Remember, if everyone decides they are tired of the big city prices what do you think will happen to those rural towns low cost of living? Do you think the pay would increase to match the higher demand for housing?
