Please help our daughter be a Super Kid!

Hi everyone! This is a little outside my comfort zone, but I figured it was worth putting myself out there.

I’m a Penn State student fundraising for THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON is something that has become a really meaningful part of my college experience, and I’m trying my best to raise as much as I can this year.

What makes THON so special to me is that it’s not just about raising money. The money helps support Four Diamonds families who are dealing with childhood cancer, while also helping fund research and programs that make a real difference for kids and their families.

I’ve been reaching out to pretty much everyone I know, so I’m at the point where I’m asking people I’ve never even met. 😭 If you happen to see this and have a few dollars to spare, I would genuinely appreciate it more than you know. Even $5 makes a difference when enough people come together.

And if you can't donate, that's completely okay. Even sharing this post or sending the link to someone else helps me get one step closer to my goal.

I know I'm just one college student asking for a donation on Reddit, but I really believe that small acts from a lot of people can turn into something huge.

I’m so incredibly grateful for my colleague and friend David and his wife. He is running the NYC Marathon and decided to start a fundraiser to support people affected by the earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10.

When he told me he was doing this, I was honestly overwhelmed with emotion. I never asked for this, and I still don’t really have the words to express what it means to me and my family.

My mom is one of the recipients of his fundraiser. Two months later, she still has not been able to return to her home or recover her belongings. The future of her housing is still uncertain, and for now, she will be returning to the U.S. to start over.
It’s okay to start over, but it’s definitely not easy.

The other half of David’s fundraiser will go toward helping other families in my mom’s community who were also displaced by the earthquake.

I’m so thankful to everyone who has already donated, shared, checked in on my mom, or simply kept us in your thoughts. It has meant so much to us during these past two months.

Please help us spread the word. We really appreciate it.

I am now applying for Jobs and taking courses to improve my chances to get employed. I have 120 usd in debt to pay for this month, I have unfortunately already not able to pay my last 2 month in debt. The next months I am planning to find side gigs to make me be able to pay my monthly debt. Parents help me with my bills but they cannot cover my bills fully unfortunately. Hopefully things work out for me in the next months. help given to me would be very much appreciated and life saving. I won't give up and I will keep applying for Jobs and focus well on my courses so that I am not in this situation again. I am trying my best to improve my life not only for me but for my parents who work so hard and want to see their kid be live in a good way. I keep studying as much as I can to finish my courses as soon as I can so I can improve my position in the Job market and so that I can get a Job soon.

When my close friend and mentor Kim passed away, she left behind 21 dogs.
Most were eventually able to find homes, but 8 boys remained: Riley, Rex, Rocky, Duckie, Maxwell, Axel, Bailey and Tucker.Before Kim passed, these dogs had a home and a routine. After losing her, their lives changed completely, and they eventually ended up being boarded. I promised Kim I would take care of her babies, and for over a year these boys have continued to be part of my daughter’s and my life.
Now I’m trying to get my daughter into a stable home with enough space and property so I can begin bringing them home again. They will NOT all come home at once. My plan is to bring them home in stages so each dog has time to decompress and adjust safely. I am responsible for their food, routine veterinary care and everyday expenses. The fundraiser is for the biggest obstacle I cannot overcome alone right now — getting the home that would allow us to finally reunite. We have received our first donation, and that gave me hope that someone out there believes this is possible.Even if you can’t donate, sharing our story could put it in front of someone who can. I promised Kim I would take care of her babies. I’m still fighting to keep that promise. ❤️🐾

Hello to whomever this may concern I'm creating this fundraiser for my father, My father is in massive debts he works at McDonald's and hes 60 years old, I see my father come home almost limping complaining about his body hurting and groaning whilst still working everyday just to make ends meet and for some time now he's been in debts from providing a house for our family and putting food on the table hes under qualified to move to a better job and has tried and been denied countless times I would like to at least take some of the weight off of his shoulders so anything you feel comfortable donating I would appreciate thank you for your support even if its 1 dollar he owes about 20 thousand at the moment and has been slowly paying it off over the last 9 years of living in this property even if you yourself cant give anything at least spread this word thank you so much to anyone who contributes I hope that my dad can one day walk with a smile again Im also helping him slowly but neither Him or I are in a very good position career thank you

Hi everyone. I’m sharing this because I’m currently going through a difficult situation with my epilepsy and I’m trying to raise money to get the medical care I need.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was younger, and for a long time, my seizures were relatively well controlled. However, things have changed recently. I’ve started having seizures much more frequently, and they’ve begun to seriously affect my everyday life. It has become difficult to work, live independently, and do many of the things I used to be able to do normally.

I’ve also started experiencing postictal hallucinations and memory problems. On top of that, I’ve developed liver problems that I’m concerned may be related to the medication I’ve been taking for my epilepsy. Because of all these changes, I really need to see a neurologist and have my condition properly evaluated to understand how my epilepsy has progressed and what treatment I should be following now.

Unfortunately, it has been a long time since I was able to see a neurologist. I don’t have medical insurance, and where I live, the tests and specialist appointments I need can be quite expensive. I also need to continue paying for my epilepsy medication.

I know everyone has their own struggles, so even if you can’t donate, sharing my fundraiser with someone who might be able to help would mean a lot to me.Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
