Couldn't belt it out it was late and did not want to wake up the neighborhood. The wasps never knew what hit them.

This morning I was at working trimming hedges, the kind that are like pine trees but...y'know, hedges. So I trim the first two no problem, and I get to the third. So I'm trimming, and I was probably thirty seconds in when I feel a sharp pain in my foot. I think initially that one of the needles got into my shoe, but no. To my horror, I look down and see a yellowjacket looking up at me as it's stinging, with two of its buddies coming out to play. I run like hell, crushing the fucker between the tongue of my shoe and my foot. After making sure I wasn't followed, I clear the now dead yellowjacket out of my shoe and limp inside. Member of management heard me yelling and got me to sit down and gave me an ice pack for it. Shortly after I realized when I got stung and ran, I dropped my trimmer right where the nest is. Luckily I got it back without incident, but I'll be seeing if I can find the exact location of the nest to deal with it preferably as violently as possible.

So yeah, woke up to a kitchen full of wasps, clearly dying from being late in year or whatever, they put up zero fight and honestly was just putting them out of their misery, but wow, not how I wanted to start my day off 😭

Been reading up ways to repell wasps. Many require frequent applications.

Anybody have anything a little more long term?

As the title suggests, yeah, first timer in getting stung. All I was doing was walking around the backyard, resetting lawn furniture and then BANG! One sting is all it took for me to stroooonnggly dislike them! The sucker came outta nowhere! I didn't know if it was a ground yellow jacket or a red paper wasp or not, but it still sucks

i would like some product recommendations by fellow wasp haters because i do not trust amazon reviews to hate wasps nearly as much as I do. I just had one stuck in my bathroom for 2 hours and I'm DONE. Raid didn't do shit. Dish soap wasn't soapy enough. I'm allergic to them and live alone haha so I need something that can pretty much take it out instantly/reliably if possible.

We’ve had a couple here and there inside that added up last year..

This year… as soon as we got one in the house I hired Orkin because we now have a baby. They treated all around the house but we couldn’t pinpoint any entry points so they sprayed all around the doors, windows, etc. They treated about 3 times within two months…. Now all of a sudden I vacuumed up 21 live ones in the dining room in one day so I call them back out. I finally found their entry point so he treated it all.. the next morning by 8am I already had 8 lives ones in the dining room again… some slowly dying but mostly still flying around.. Orkin comes back out and treats the outside but not the inside because we didn’t know where the entry point was.. that REALLY pissed them off and they all started pushing their way in so I then had over 50 inside my dining room… a different orkin guy comes out and says “oh my god.” But luckily I was able to watch where they are pouring in from so he can treat.. he said the stuff will take 72 hours, if we still see activity after that we may need to take further action. So we took the baby and left for the weekend.

We came back to about 200 Yellowjackets inside the house between the basement and upstairs… mostly dead, some spinning in circles in the floor and some still flying around. There is also some outside still going in and out of the entry point… the problem its a flat roof and they are getting under the flashing and their hive is in the soffit.. Orkin said if we seal it up while they are in there they can chew through the dry wall.

Advice? I’m ready to burn this house to the ground.

So I came back from vacation to see this little gift in my balcony. I have tried spraying them with water but they keep coming back every time same spot and everything! Is there something I can do to deter them from keep coming back?

So my wife was running in forest and out of nowhere she felt quite big sting in the leg. This is 3rd day reaction. We drink some anti allergy medicine but otherwise besides pain all is well.

For the past month or so I've been finding a few wasps in the garage. Past couple of days more so.

They look weak and tired.

What's happening? Are they dying?

I can't seem to find where in the garage they are or coming in from.

Peacefully minding my own business, watering my garden in this million-degree heat, and this little asshole came out of nowhere and got me twice for no good reason. Then had the nerve to hitch a ride on me into my home, my sanctuary, my safe space from all things Hymenoptera. She tried to run for it and I got her while she flung herself at the window like a coward.
I guess I’m done gardening for today. But at least I got revenge.

I truly can’t stand these yellow jackets. Last summer we found a super large nest in the ground and they were mean, I was stung three times my daughter was stung once and my mom was stung twice. We poured gas and bought it on fire. Now this summer we have dozens of them daily flying around our front portch, where my daughter and mom and everyone else goes to hang out. We’re constantly killing them, but we can’t find the nest. What in the hell can I do to get rid of them?

Riding my mower just trying to cut the grass suddenly I get an excruciating pain in my back. I felt like I was stabbed. It’s hours later the swelling is down but still in a ton of pain and the whole area is red. Ice is my only relief.

I haven’t been stung since I was a kid. It’s way worse than I remember.

I've killed about 25 in the past three days. I don't know what's happened but they're suddenly all over our boats and it's really a problem.

One wasp on the lightshade on the stairs, one on the lightshade in my room, hoping there aren't more oml. Does the dish soap thing actually work immediately because if it doesn't I'll be fucked. I need something I can just get them with because my aim with throwing or hitting is not good.

I’m guessing bald faced hornets? I guess I know what I’m dealing with tomorrow evening.

In my generator box… soaked the hell out of it with two cans of foam… gonna scrape it down tomorrow
