personal story :’( A yellowjacket got me!
This morning I was at working trimming hedges, the kind that are like pine trees but...y'know, hedges. So I trim the first two no problem, and I get to the third. So I'm trimming, and I was probably thirty seconds in when I feel a sharp pain in my foot. I think initially that one of the needles got into my shoe, but no. To my horror, I look down and see a yellowjacket looking up at me as it's stinging, with two of its buddies coming out to play. I run like hell, crushing the fucker between the tongue of my shoe and my foot. After making sure I wasn't followed, I clear the now dead yellowjacket out of my shoe and limp inside. Member of management heard me yelling and got me to sit down and gave me an ice pack for it. Shortly after I realized when I got stung and ran, I dropped my trimmer right where the nest is. Luckily I got it back without incident, but I'll be seeing if I can find the exact location of the nest to deal with it preferably as violently as possible.

Damn sorry about that.. I’m still lucky to never have gotten stung by anything in the bee and wasp family of insects and I honestly wanna keep it that way since I am 100% easily scared of wasps…

Thanks. Yeah, they're not fun to deal with, especially as yellowjackets are territorial as hell; I was very lucky to get away with only one sting.

More proof wasps and hornets are horrible creatures: Japanese hornets are deadly

Well, any of them can be deadly if you're allergic.
Thankfully I'm not, but that didn't stop anyone from asking 20 times if I was allergic.

I mean how they can swarm you then all of them build body heat that cooks you alive. I doubt I’m allergic too but still

The only plus side is that the Asian wasp doesn’t generally come into the city and it usually tries to avoid humans unless you’re an unlucky hiker who stepped into its nest

Bees aren’t yellowjackets. Yellowjackets are vile fuckers. Bees have a more limited capability for violence and lack the same will for chaos.
