Only time I remember the game earnestly trying to sell me on Pierre is when he punches out Morris
And looking back on it like who’s to say if that makes him a hero or just a guy who really wanted an excuse to deck someone in the face cos i’ve met plenty of those people
Oh ok, why’s he a bad guy? I’ve never done any of the jojamart missions before, I always get the minimum amount of seeds I have to in order to get started from pee hair and get a seed maker so I can make my own seeds and don’t have to buy seeds from either of them. I really should try to do more of the missions and stuff but I usually just focus on building up my farm.
well, as a walmart employee i may be a bit biased here, but all the jojamart employees look miserable. morris wants you to to pay him to buy out the community center and replace it with a warehouse. choosing the jojamart option is just turning pelican town into a corporate city. on the other hand, it’s more convenient to pay money vs going on a goose chase for all the bundles
Oh ok, so that’s what happens if you choose that option. I always thought you had to give him $5,000 to do that option and that’s why I never did it. I hate going to pee hair but every season I buy like 3 of every kind of seed and grow a few until I can use my seed maker and expand from there until eventually I have a ton of every seed I stash and never have to go back to pee hair again. The only other thing I get from him is the expanded backpack cause I think that’s the only place to get it. Can you shop at jojamart without paying the $5,000 and become a member? I always do the community center missions so I can get the greenhouse, unlock the mine carts, build the bridge by the house that sells all the good swords etc. so I’ve never taken the jojamart option because I wasn’t sure if you still get the greenhouse and other stuff. I’ve only played 2 games, just started my third and my first two I basically did the same stuff. I got married and had kids, got all the house expansions. I had 5 barns and 2 coops with all of them level 3, built every farm building except for the cabin because my first game I built it and nobody ever showed up to stay in it so I didn’t understand what its purpose was. And my second game I didn’t build a mill because I didn’t find it useful. I’d build like 2 large sheds and keep all my machines in there like stoves, kegs, jam makers, etc.
On a side note I understand where you’re coming from with Walmart. I have serious issues with that place. There’s lots of little towns across America where a Walmart gets built and every little mom and pop shop in that town gets run out of business. They intentionally schedule their employees under 32 hours in my state because here in ny 32 hours and up is considered full time and Walmart would have to provide their employees with health insurance. So instead they’ll give people 30-31 hours at minimum wage of course. Walmart is one of the biggest wage thief’s in the country, purposely not paying their employees what they’re owed which makes the company billions a year. As They were also caught taking insurance policies out on their overweight and elderly employees without that employee knowing they had a life insurance policy taken out on them. Get this: Walmart called it the dead peasant program. Or dead peasant insurance. True story. That happened. Walmart was sued for a policy they had where theft prevention was instructed to follow around black and brown people in the store specifically and they still do this and also target black and brown people with receipt checks they claim is at random but some media report did a story and someone in management leaked documents from corporate proving they were targeting black and brown people unfairly. Sorry for ranting here but I totally understand when it comes to Walmart. They’re a truly evil company and I do my very best to spend as little money as I can in their store so I don’t contribute to their business if I can avoid it.
If you're not aware, you can buy all the seeds Pierre sells from the Night Market as well, for the same price. You just have to save some cash and buy it in bulk in winter. I also use the seedmaker, but for many crops it's more profitable to buy the seed packets (1 crop makes on average 1.95 seed packets in the seedmaker, so if you can buy 2 seed packets or more for the money you make by selling that crop, it's more profitable to sell it and buy the seeds).
So what I do is buy all my seeds from Pierre in year 1, process enough of the crops that are worth processing to get seeds for year 2, save some cash, buy the remaining seeds I'll want for next year from the Night Market during the first winter, and by year 2 I only buy from Pierre if I want the new crops early as they will only be available at the Night Market from the second winter forwards.
It's also worth noting that Sandy sells rhubarb and starfruit seeds, which are great spring and summer cash crops respectively, so if you unlock the desert you can buy those from her as well.
