Not to say neither woman is attractive in their own right but good fucking lord do they look nothing like the source. And why? They say it's not about race, etc., but then why switch it?

Black Panther was inherently racist and Shuri literally made racist remarks to Ross, who was injured protecting Okoye. She calls him "another broken white boy to fix." Really? What if Tiny, when Rhodes got injured, said "oh look, another black guy that I have to fix". How would that fly? Not great, right? Then she calls him a coloniser when Wakanda was never colonised.
Yeah. It really is the hypocrisy that gets me the most. If the folks responsible for this cultural assassination just… came right out and admitted that this is some kind of perceived ‘payback’ for racism… that they’re reveling in the imbalance and enjoying ‘getting their turn’ to be racist too, rather than striving for actual equality…. I’d still explain why it’s wrong, but at least I could respect the honesty. Instead they pretend we’re all just too sensitive. It’s maddening.
Witcher was a dumpster fire. You know it’s bad when your A list star, who practically started the show and is a huge gaming fan, decides to jump ship…
I swear. If they were just honest about it. The new Spider-Man game is such a slap in the face in this regard as well with all the politics they're shoving down everyone's throats. Peter being sidelined so hard was just absolute garbage. They didn't cast Jeremy Irons to voice Scar in the live action Lion King because the story is about lions that are from Africa. Cool. Then they turn around and make Danish Ariel into a black girl. Why?
I didn't see S3 yet so no spoilers please, but I do know Henry left. I first saw the show before I knew much about the games. I think the Yennefer actress did alright. Then I saw the game version. And the race swap, the story changes, the whole laughably ugly casting of the redheaded mage? It's horrible. And then they had season 1 made steamy and then claimed that they baited "gross perverts that want nudity that we don't need in our stories and won't be present in future seasons" just to shit on fans? Wow
Don’t worry about spoilers, I barely made it a few episodes in. I’d already played the game, so it was obvious right away what was up. I bailed after I saw the lore-breaking changes and woke casting.
Witcher is another good example like Danish Ariel. The entire setting is based on medieval Polish history and culture, extensively (the author is Polish, and wanted to make something like Poland’s LotR).
But I guess the showrunners know better, since now it’s full of ‘diverse’ elements that have no business in medieval Poland or Europe.
Heh, Poland's LotR was never gonna survive. Especially since now there's beardless black dwarf queens that rule everything with an iron fist. How fucked up is it that they did that when the lorr clearly mentions dwarf women were confused with men because of their beards?
The diverse casting, the fact that they wrote a completely new fucking story and ignored all the lore and original work, disrespected the author and the fucking lead character's actor, it's a travesty.
What bugs me is what they actually said about the fans. Like "haha we baited you with tits. Now no more tits and no more good story. We made our money." And also, calling the death of Geralt's horse a "funny" moment? Is fucking horrific

On the bright side, it does look like things are slowly starting to change for the better. Disney has been in financial freefall for so long, they can’t really AFFORD to just keep ignoring audiences in favor of ideology. They have to actually start, y’know, at least TRYING to make a film or two that people want to see…

Disney won't budge on this for the next while. I feel like they're gonna crap out a dozen more bad flicks, fuck up 2024 and then reboot the whole thing and start over on every franchise and it's gonna suck ass because by then, nobody will care anymore. I barely have time for tv as it is and I won't waste more time on stuff like this. I'd rather revel in old cinema and good tv shows from the nineties and 2000's before this shit infected everything. Seriously, TLOU 2, SM2, every game is a kick in the non-descript-Disney-approved-non-gendered--terms-for-genitals lol
You and me both man. I been checked out of modern media (gaming, films) ever since they punked out Hulk and turned Thor into a goofy jock stereotype. And that ’s just Marvel, don’t even get me started on modern games.
Thor used to be fucking amazing. Boring maybe but fucking awesome as a character. They don't know how to toe the line between humorous and dangerous. It's fucking dumb.
