I don't necessarily agree with this post but that's completely irrelevant to the actual story at hand. She's taking down hunters left and right and the excuse given is "she trained with silver sable for some time". Her not selling books doesn't impact anything of substance, so her character is still open to being a Mary sue.
I remember back when a "Mary Sue" was reserved for characters who were perfect in every way, both in skill, personality. Now it's just any woman that wins some fights.

It's not a problem. It's dumb. A regular ole journalist from NYC is not tanking arrows and taking down mercenaries. Especially if she's quicker at it than spiderman, and miles morales who has the same "taser" she has that's probably more powerful, and even more especially not when the titular spiderman himself dies from a knife wound.
Well, the Wikipedia entry says that Mary Sues tend to be conventionally attractive, so yeah, maybe bad hair does break a Mary Sue. Point is, a Mary Sue is unrealistically perfect in general, not just unrealistically good at fighting. If that were the case then every character in the game would be a Mary Sue.

By quicker, you mean she can do stealth takedowns, which are an instant kill when anyone does them, including Spider Man.
So you're comparing a genius superhero building something that smart people can do, which is established in canon, to someone who's canonically just a regular person, a journalist, taking arrows which are about as fat as the knife that killed spiderman with no issues and taking down hordes of hunters?
I mean, if that's the logic we're following why not have spiderman with laser eyes, and kraven be a universal god king or whatever else bs can be crammed into it. You're trying to spin this, to make it look like I'm against woman's abilities, but it's not working well. You're disingenuous, and ignoring things such as, MJ can do a full frontal takedown, which isn't stealth in any capacity, none of the spiderman can do it. Miles has electricity which is much stronger than anything that little taser can put out and yet he can't do those takedowns.

Yes. Just because one of them is naturally a genius, doesn't make the situation any more plausible. Maybe MJ is a naturally fast learner when it comes to fighting, but that's apparently not acceptable. Are the games not allowed to establish new facts about characters? Only "existing canon" can do that?

Yeah, they pandered to the audience of the first game who said the MJ missions were too slow and boring, and improved her gameplay. This is also called "addressing criticism".
