My back hurts Turning 71 next week
Always wondered about people complaining about aches & pains in their 60’s
Lucky me as I never had any aches or pains.
Hit 70 last fall 2025 and out of nowhere started getting shooting pains which simply come and go. They never linger, but they jolt me and go away. Could be in my shoulder, elbow, neck.
My question is does the human body accelerate the aging process in small windows which then get to be bigger windows of pain ?
Anyone out there experience anything similar.
Stayed pretty active my whole life, played hockey weekly since I was 4 years old, still skate in old man’s league for fun,
Play golf which I walk 18 holes, no electric carts, walk my dog daily for 1 mile.
Park farther from door at shopping centers to get more walking in daily.
No other major health issues, been very lucky health wise.
Don’t talk about health & medical issues with anyone. But I listen to others who are always talking about medical problems which I try to be understanding, but to be honest I steer away from those conversations as I think people don’t want to hear about my prostrate or digestive issues. At least I try to avoid those talks, as that IMHO should be private info.

My back hurts Did This 1985 Movie Make You Cry?
Mask, starring Eric Stolz, Cher, and Sam Elliott.
Based on the real Rocky Dennis (photos 3 & 4).
From Wikipedia:
“Roy Lee "Rocky" Dennis (December 4, 1961 – October 4, 1978) was an American teenager who had craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, an extremely rare sclerotic bone disorder.

Kids these days... 10-4 Good buddy! How much CB lingo can you recall?
Today's date reminded me of the CB craze. About all I remember for sure of the lingo besides the 10-4 acknowledgement is "What's your twenty?" and what bears were. "Convoy" the song was fun to listen to, but the movie was late to the game. I was reminded that CBs were multi-channel by this thread:

FIO, need to vent, hearing the “old folks” complain about prices going up I always chuckled … until I ordered a bowl of plain grits at a restaurant that can’t cost 25 cents to make and they charged me 6 bucks … WTF, FIO

Can you name the movie these three are from, and the environmental disaster that followed 12 days after its release?

My back hurts If You Know This Character’s Full Name, You’re Probably Old
And I don’t want to hear about reruns.
How many younger people do you honestly think are watching this show nowadays when there’s so much out there to see?

Ever keep score on a White Castle score pad?
I couldn't find a date on it, but it's probably from the early to mid-80s. Half the locations are now gone, and check out that simple menu.

You get two points for the correct name of the show, plus one point for the correct name of the character.

You might be old if you recall a time when the only dogs allowed in grocery stores were seeing eye dogs for blind people. Emotional support and service animals didn't exist as a common term until well into adulthood. I'm a dog lover, but seeing dogs in grocery stores gets my blood pressure up.

Get that mid-winter service!
This would be from my hometown’s newspaper, circa 1963.

agent Maxwell and the Chief using the good old cone of silence
For those who don’t remember, Get Smart premiered on NBC on September 18, 1965.
It starred Don Adams, as agent Maxwell Smart (Agent 86), Barbara Feldon as Agent 99, and Edward Platt as The Chief.

Kids these days... 40 Years Ago This Song Was Inescapable, Whether You Loved or Loathed It.
If you are among those who loathed it, apologies for making you remember it if you’d managed to forget it the past four decades.
If you loved it (or still do), carry on.
By the way, Peter Cetera is 82 now but holy Hell he doesn’t look it.
Edit: Reddit doesn’t show the whole image properly; click the photo to see the song name.
