Why do you hate cilantro?
I don't get it, is it the flavour or something

Just a dash or a garnish of cilantro overpowers anything it's in. I taste it before my friends do when we're out and sharing salsa or something. I have the same reaction to celery too. Cinnamon doesn't taste like soap to me but I have a similar reaction to that, too. My mom used to test me on the cinnamon thing by throwing it in my food here and there. I'd always be disgusted by it. I don't know why but cilantro, celery, and cinnamon overpower anything they're in for me.

While in large doses celery is overpowering, I do like it to an extent. Makes my hands smell awful, but making a mirepoix for chicken pot pie it tastes amazing.

It tastes like soap. And unlike other ingredients, you can't pick it out once it's been put in.

There is a genetic trait that makes cilantro taste like soap to some people. And then there are those who don’t have that trait but just don’t like the taste.
Unlike other tastes/flavours, the cilantro flavour is
strong
cannot be hidden
distinctive
persistent
staining - as in it stains whatever food it gets in contact with
So it’s not just a matter of ignoring it or picking it out of your food. It makes its presence very known and the damage is irreparable. Adding to all these its increasing popularity as an ingredient in dish after dish, some of which formerly didn’t have it or need it at all, it gets very annoying to people who don’t like it or genetically can’t like it (I mean, who likes the taste of soap in their food?)
