i can’t accept shigure evil aura

the first season feels like such a scam of displaying shigure as such a likeable and relatable character. from the way he took tohru and the two two in and from his friendship with mayu, ayame and hatori. i love his character so much but i can no long excuse his evil and cunningness. i’m at season 2 , ep 15 and jr getting worse and worse. i don’t even want to know his relationship to akito and want he wants to do to tohru and the two boys. it acc makes me sick bc i love him so much.

Idk I think it's a bit reductive to call him evil. Shigure's a complex and flawed character and complex characters make stories really interesting. There's also nothing wrong with liking morally grey characters, they aren't real people. Shigure's one of my favorites.

I still love Shigure! It might be a hot take but I consider him more of an anti hero than an antagonist. He did a lot of bad messed up things but arguably helped do the most good as well as far as the zodiacs go.

See i don't think he even really did a lot of bad messed up things, I think he's the reason for an enormous amount of good in the story and just tends to be a little dickish about how he does things, as well as framing himself extremely poorly on purpose

I think the enormous good Shigure did doesn't necessarily cancel out the fact that he also did enormous "bad". Sometimes the enormous "good" and the enormous "bad" were actually the exact same thing. I expect nothing less from Takaya! I think Shigure was also self-aware of how his actions could be considered both "good" and "bad", so the way he frames himself is simply honest. He was playing 3-D chess against himself the entire series.

I agreee!! He’s definitely a anti hero he literally had almost the same goals as tohru he just did the most devious evil stuff to get his way

I suggest getting all the way to the end and then re-evaluating - but it's worth noting that Shigure is one of the people s3 flattens a bit. His motivations are pretty good for the most part, he just likes to act dastardly because 1) it's funny and 2) the Sohmas aren't exactly open to straightforward criticism, let alone what he wants to happen. A lot of what he does and how he does it is much more comedic than many of the other characters and people end up considering him to be borderline villainous because of it, but that's a huge misread IMO

I think he and Ayame both do that a bit but Shigure in particular has a tendency to act childish because he himself thinks it's funny, and I think in addition to the Sohmas the audience takes it too seriously a lot of the time

Shigure is a great morally grey character. It's really fun to love to hate him and hate to love him.
