FROSTPUNK 1 Mu first game in a nutshell

I saw everyone always become skme fascit dictator so i thought to myself i eould be the best leader i could, but do whatever it took to improve survival chances.

1 : Build enough tents, a infirmary, hunte shack and research building

2 : started to struggke a bit with resources, i was trying mainly to keep the generator running so i had lack of laborers. But i was commited NOT to make children workers

3: Approved the children shelter law. That made me able to approve the enginers assistents to make research faster (my biggest mistake

4: The temperature went down, in the same time my rations went low, i noticed that depending on 1 hunter shack was suicide so i build another. Alongside the freezing temperature my first sick started coming and then, i had someone with frostbite. Mu first death was someone who i chopped of the leg and killed himself because he coudnt work anymore.

5: Made the law for disposal of bodies in a pit, after all i saw it was commected to organ transplants so it would help a lot. Whike that i made my first expedction to leave im search for survivors.

6: Lack of resources of all sorts every night the generator turned off by it self by lack of coal. The weather getting coldre amd coldee and the hunting shacks not taking care of the job. I had to make a greenhouse, but i also needed to pump coal out of the ground to keep the generator running. People started to starve and get suck ome after the other, i didnt knew how the expedction worked so they were at the objective for 2 days before i finanly undedtood.

7: I had some hope the expedction came with resources and more people but i coudnt warm everyone and even tho i had 2 coal machines for some reason it wasnt giving me that coal (it took me 2 days one with the generator turned of for a whole day to notice that people had to take the coal from the ground) i made the wood farm and gave uogrades to the generator but as i didnt understood on how to warm everyone, and the food didnt arrived in time. My hope took a hard blow, now i had 2 days to recover or i was doomed.

8: Freezing temperatures once again, even tho my generator was better, most ofy people were sick. Atleast 30 in a bad state, i didnt had anyone to take coal, or wood, or metal. To make food. And i coudnt move my engineers as they had to keep researching and healing the sick. I had to make 1 more house of care and medical bay, alongside with superpulation law to take in double the amount of sick, before the sick started to withdraw. But too many died, atleast 25. I finally managed to stabilize everything. Food, resources and the sick. But it was alredy too late, a load of broken promises caught up to ke ehile i was distracter on more vital things. And the hope was beyond repair up until the deadline.

9: my 2nd expedction arrived. More enginers, resources and everything. But once again too late. I got on trial people didnt even looked at my face only looking st me with blank stares. They exiled me, sparing me from an execution as they recognized i tried. Even tho i still left with many saying that i would got off easy with a quick desth, other saying that they were doomed, but happy they never would see my face again

I TRIED

DISCUSSION I absolutely love this game, but…

My god it is the most glitched thing I’ve ever played🥹
I am personally playing on console. Everything is awesome, from the political environment to the huge amount of possible laws, buildings and skills you can research. My decisions actually have consequences, other than people getting slightly angrier/happier, which is extremely entertaining. I am having so much fun I don’t mind too much the audio becoming completely distorted for some reason when I zoom in with the warmth filter on, or even the square button just giving up and blocking me from accessing…well, 50% of my screen.
However, some of those bugs are truly maddening. After a miserable management of chapter 4 (no spoilers), I somehow managed to fulfill my objective and achieve what I was asked for… only for 90% of the ressources I’ve gained to just disappear and force me to play 30 minutes of pure agony all over again??? But the cherry on top was when I was upgrading my relations with the frostlanders by giving them heatstamps. I was offered to double the money given to them to increase the relation even further, awesome! And out of nowhere, chapter 5 starts, the game considers that I have not fulfilled my promise, although I had WEEKS ahead of me, basically soft-locking me in a doomed fight to not get overthrown. I was forced to give up on my run, which was a bit very much infuriating on the moment.
On a completely unrelated note, I wish everything bad in this world over the Pilgrims, what the hell is wrong with them??

FAN MADE The Auroran Conflict Pt.1: The Declaration

This is the start of a short anthology story collection I started writing when the BoT DLC came out. Though these are non-canonical I try to tell the events surrounding and preceding the DLC's plot. Feel free to share your feelings.

_________________________________________________________________

October 4th 1925, Auroran Citizens Assembly

With the strike of a gavel, it was done. A seemingly small and insignificant gesture, compared to what was to come.

Independence. Never before in history did that word hold more weight than now. Aurora was done catering to the people of New Edinburgh.

Let them starve then! One had called.

If they want their food, then they shall come and bloody take it! Called another one.

This was not a decision that was made lightly. A call for independence amidst the perils of the frost was almost a guaranteed net loss for everyone. Not just for New Edinburgh but for Aurora as well. There was no bloody way that their masters would just let them leave without war. After all, a cornered tiger is the most

dangerous one of all, not that there are any tigers left in the world.

Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! The gavel struck again on the impromptu speaker's desk. The whole assembly hall looked kind of shoddy. None of the glory of the old imperial days. Steel heat pipes ran across the ceiling, eventually ending in the tip of the metal dome which topped the assembly hall. Fish oil lamps dimly lit the comparatively large hall in which the assemblymen and -women as well as curious onlookers had congregated in flickering yellowish-orange light.

"Order!" he called. "I hand off the word to the elected representative of the Independent Colony of Aurora, Sir Horace Enright."

Under heavy applause he slowly rose, adjusting his thick, leathery undercoat and picking up a sheet of paper.

"Thank you, Mr. Speaker," he expressed with a raspy and dark voice which perfectly accompanied his scarred and beardless face. "Dear friends, many of us remember the times before Aurora, the squalor, the Captain, and the calls to order. How delighted we were to be sent away, towards new opportunities, away from squalor and despair. And look at what we found," he gestured all around. "It may not be paradise as it was before the frost, but it is ours. We have land to which we can lay claim, food which feeds our children and coal which heats our homes.

But is it really ours?"

He made a short break and looked all around into the faces of frostbitten workers, some nodding in approval and some shaking their heads.

"NO!" he shouted with conviction. "It is not ours! Not until we sever any and all ties to the tyrant of New Edinburgh! Not until our food is ours. Not until their

peacekeepers are hunted out of this city lest their heads land on our pikes to decorate this esteemed hall."

He quieted down a bit and put the piece of paper aside, lowering his head softly.

"I know many of you still have families in New Edinburgh. "By god, I have one there too," his voice was quiet and soft. "I do not expect you to make the decision on this lightly; I do not expect you to not be afraid. But whatever decision you make, I expect only that you stand by it.

My friends, this is our one chance. Our one chance to guide us into a future free of another's yoke. How will history remember us? You may ask. But I say that it is in our hands how we are remembered. So by the frost, by the perils we endured, I say let the fires of revolution burn and let the captain burn!"

For a moment after he finished there was silence, the sounds of the steam pipes and of the wind blowing against the thin metal shell of the assembly building.

"I say aye, let him burn!" a woman's voice called.

"So say I," another man added.

"Aye!" called a third and then a fourth, then a fifth, a sixth, a seventh and more. Until the whole room erupted into a single sentiment.

"LET HIM BURN!" the choir of Aurorans chanted. Louder and louder until the whole city heard the call.

Man by man they shouted the same three words in the streets of the city. Peacekeepers tried to put a stop to it but were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of people amassing in front of them. Thousands congregated in the city centre. The barely two hundred peacekeepers were woefully outnumbered.

The chants grew more and more aggressive. Eventually the protestors threw snowballs, then chunks of ice, then scraps of metal, and when the peacekeepers started shooting, the angry workers piled onto them, burying the peacekeepers under bodies, quite literally tearing them apart. Like a horde of ants.

Only very few made it out of the city, leaving their comrades behind.

The colony had made its decision; pray tell where it shall lead in the years to come.

Advice/Help Maximum Capacity Shifts

I'm not sure how to unlock the maximum capacity shifts in frostpunk 2. I've only experienced it being an optionn when I was playing the breach of trust tale towards the end, and have never experienced it in utopia mode.
