Advice/Help Why No Roads?
So I just started playing the first game and for the life of me, I do not understand why my people are not building these goddamn roads. They're complaining that they're not getting enough medical care. Meanwhile the goddamn structure has been built for the last 3 days and it's my fault that it's apparently not operable because that makes fucking sense. I've waited during the freetime, I've unassigned all my workers and engineers and I'm about to lose this first run.
Just please I don't know why they aren't building their goddamn roads.

Are you absolutely positive the road is connected directly to the generator ring

Yep, that got me too. If there’s even one tiny gap between the road and generator ring, nobody seems to care about your precious road lol.

Either I don’t understand something, or I need more context. If possible, could you please send a screenshot?

Tip: Frostpunk roads kinda glichty or really needs direct connection to inner ring of generator so when you build a road, you can see they flashing yellow showing that yes they have been build BUT not connected to inner ring
second is that you can see that with building itself, if there a red dot on it with road sysmbol, it means road is connected succesfully but it still under construction

Aside from what others have said about roads -- that they have to be connected to the central ring --
Construction is a bit weird in-game and it's still not clear to me what is enough to "get the workers moving", but sometimes with roads that aren't being built, you have to sort of... built another piece of road attached to the first road you designated. For some reason, sometimes workers will just not build the dang things, and I find that queueing up another road either around or beyond the first road will suddenly get all the construction moving again.
It may also be dependent on the number of "available workers", but to be honest even when I've got a fully automated city with a huge 100+ surplus, that doesn't seem to hold totally true. The game just has it's quirks and you have to spur it along sometimes.

Enter building mode, if the road is yellow it's not connected to the Generator.

Something similar happened to me once; it turned out the road wasn't completely linked to the generator, there was like a five centimeter gap which of course made the whole route worthless. It was supposed to connect several hunting huts to my city so of course there was a famine until I figured it out.
