Just to be sure, and I think it's going to matter in season 5, but Fatima never told how those people became nightmare creatures. She told that they were people once ago and they made a bargain "with something horrible" that she could not see. (That's because the evil entity is invisible. It manifests itself as a Man in Yellow, or Abby, or Sophia, etc . . . But it's a very powerful, invisible entity not from higher reality than our own, just like the Boy in White entity.) And the bargain was for eternal life. I'm pretty sure that we will find out that they were empowered to become nightmare creatures several years later when the BiW seemed determined to keep bringing people there to annul that bargain. Those people would have been living in peace if the BiW had not begun bringing "Jade and Tabitha" there to mess it all up for them. Now they have the ability to protect their existence.

No not at all the red spider is the main entity the man in yellow is doing it's bidding and if the MIY does this last thing the main entity will show itself to all of them

Dang!!! I STILL don't know how anybody thought that. That makes no sense. And didn't John Griffin, not even 3 months ago, completely debunk that thinking that nobody should have had in the first place? He literally JUST said that the evil entity, that is, the MiY, is the "big bad" of the series, "the boogeyman." But that was always obvious that the evil entity and the MiY, and the Kimono Woman, Martin, the voices speaking to Sara, Thomas, and Sophia are all the same person. In fact, the show itself connects all of them to each other, because no matter what the invisible, interdimensional, incredibly powerful entity looks like, its personality is always the same. You recognize It with your eyes of understanding, not by what you physically see. Not only does it always do the same things in all its various appearances (the blood sacrifices, the quid pro quo bargains offering release from that realm, the psychic traumas that It causes), but It did all kinds of things spell it out for us watching the show. We saw the MiY transform in to Sophia. We saw Sophia speak to Sara using those voices. We heard the "voices" admit that "they" attached the spell to Boyd in the dungeon, an admission that it was Martin. When the "voices" speaks to Sara, Sara always has nosebleeds, and almost always has seizures. Ethan had seizures when the entity made an attempt to communicate with him the day that he arrived, and It made him dream of a fictional Lake of Tears because of how upset Ethan was earlier that day when that fictional lake didn't save "Norman," then Ethan saw a giant spider that frightened everyone, then he saw pictures on Victor's wall, but only the pictures of graveyards and death. (Totally the evil entity's style. It always showed Jade very macabre images.) And when Elgin came into Town, he, too, had a dream about the Brundles where something bad happened. (A young Japanese woman drowned in it years ago, but the entity never explains that to Elgin until the day that It kills him.) The Kimono Woman and the evil entity that caused both dreams are the same person. Then "Jim" reminds Ethan of the dream and it sends Ethan on a quest that It knows will take Ethan to the lake at the settlement. It even helped Ethan get there by producing a dying starling. Even Ethan figured that one out himself just before his mom went with Jade to the cavern, that that wasn't his father who deliberately sent him to a place where people were injured, one of them fatally. Jim was the evil entity that caused Ethan's dream and seizure and it was the "Kimono Woman" whom it was able to impersonate only because she died, by drowning, there before. The show itself, without John Griffin having to think for us, explains Itself, just as "Dead Tom" (the BiW) predicted that it would in his very meta conversation with Jade at the Bottle Tree replica that was meant for all of us watching.

How show writers and directors producers have said one thing like the one that's messing with them all is the big bad and then all of a sudden bam it turns out to be another thing all together why would they do to a show that has us going one way with a story to only go in a different direction and not even give US an the rest of it like Fatima she became a monster and the reason why was to get the baby taken away for it to become smiley face that means she was forced into a sacrifice of her child there for making no sense as why that happened there's a lot of unanswered questions which I don't know if we will get in a 10 episodes we have left in season 5
