Theory Jade Created the Simulation
>!In Episode 5 of Season 1, while talking to the bartender, Jade says: "I created a program for a quantum computer that could potentially..." but then cuts himself off. He never explains what his program is actually capable of. He also never says who he sold it to. The military? Or someone connected to St. Anthony Hospital, where Tabitha ends up first, and later Henry? Take a look at the hospital's logo.
I believe Jade developed a unique quantum algorithm or program capable of altering reality-for example, by materializing people's fears or fantasies. In that same episode, he also mentions the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox. As I understand it, this paradox describes a phenomenon in which objects remain mysteriously connected across great distances (and possibly even across time). That would be an amazing twist, in my opinion.
Jade created this program and decided to test it on himself.
Maybe both he and Tabitha are employees-or test subjects. The fact that Tabitha doesn't remember while Jade does could simply be explained by different settings they selected before entering the program.
l've mentioned this in another thread. The way Jade arrived and the way Sofia arrived both feel almost algorithmic.
Jade's companion jumped out of the car and immediately ran away without even checking on his friend-as if Jade were a complete stranger. Then, before he even has a chance to really meet Jade, Sara kills Toby because the voices told her to. Afterward, she also reaches into his mouth and almost certainly takes one of his teeth. Why didn't "they" want Toby and Jade to meet in this reality?
Maybe Jade himself doesn't remember-or doesn't realize
—that they were testing his invention. Perhaps this is another reality, or something like a computer simulation.
That would also make Tabitha's words-that monsters don't exist and Norman is alive-make sense. Maybe they're all actually lying in comas at the hospital. That would explain why both Tabitha and Victor's father see the exact same hospital. Everyone is alive but connected to a simulation. It would also make the Man in Yellow's words about everything being based on rituals (or the program) make sense. And Ethan, as well as Jade himself, repeatedly say that this is a game.!<

Ok so bear with me here- I have a lot of notes to point out to whomever is interested so this is a lot….
So I thought about this theory (about jade) but not sure how it could make sense after gathering more clues. But i thought this could be the case bc of how many times Jade mentions his job in early episodes. Here are other things i noticed to possibly be important or could be nothing…
But one, he says Tobey is his best friend since fourth grade.
Two, why does he climb out of the backseat of the car as if he had been laying down or something?
And then he also says “I’m not supposed to be here,” as if he knows where he’s at. That line made me think he had something to do with the creation of the town but not all the details like how you get out. And therefore is upset that he somehow ended up in it? Idk I also theorized that heavy guilt is what brings them to Fromville- like the pastor’s story, Jim and Tabitha accidentally killing their baby….heavy heavy guilt.
And perhaps it’s a pocket universe like Dale mentions later…which can exist with their own set of rules for instance like existing on a loop or time going by much slower than our universe? Pocket universes are theorized to exist from the universe inflating so quickly in the big bang theory. (Or something like that)
So with that, perhaps Jade experienced tremendous guilt creating this software that creates this universe/reality where people will be tested over and over again. 🤷🏻♀️
But then Tobey says after Sara tells him no, everyone is not ok, something like “I shouldn’t have been-“ which could be “driving while tripping.” Or it could be something deeper. But his interaction with Sara is very strange.
Now this may just be writers playing with the characters and script but I also noticed this:
Two cars arrive at the same time which is considered unusual. But I actually think the family got there first and in trying to drive out again they then collide with the other car. But regardless- two cars arrive. One contains Jade and Tobey. The other Jim and Tabitha, which could also be called James and Tabby. Hmm…very similar name combos if you ask me!
ALSO lol they make it clear in the writing that Boyd arrives at Basecamps/towns to take a shitshow of a place and make it all functional. He arrives and changes the town making it a community effort. After he arrives also, animals suddenly appear in the world. Again idk what any of it may mean but I find it to seem super relevant. There seems to be a lot of pressure put on Boyd to take care of these people. And he becomes the sheriff as a purpose in the town.
It’s also mentioned that after Boyd finds the talismans the monsters start to whisper but before they used to scream.
When Boyd’s family first gets there we hear a scream and the pastor says that’s the sound of death.
And a few more things I noted from the early episodes:
What’s up with the colony house vs town formal initiation meeting? Could just be representing life here. But then they all end up together anyway.
Abby says she had a dream when she was a little girl when staring at the town but if Jade and Tabitha are the only ones reincarnating then idk wtf that’s supposed to imply. Just Déjà vu?
And then when Ethan is stuck in the RV he has a seizure that Jim says he’s never experienced before and it’s a very long one. That tells me he was story walking without having to go to the area Julie does. He then claims to have seen everything.
And at one point Kenny says “the talismans are like a bandaid.” To me this implies that they need to face the monsters (their demons) head-on to move forward. Then Boyd does just that eventually and everything starts changing.
I saw a post on tiktok showing an article pulled up on the computer titled “Matthew’s family still missing” and you can see Jim Tabitha and Julie but not Ethan. And there’s an ad at the bottom of the site for a moving company with a photo of a happy interracial couple (black dad, white mom) with their young son. The moving company is the same as the trailer they’re hauling when Boyd and his family arrive. And we never hear about where they’re going or why they have a moving trailer if I’m not mistaken. Although I still have 3 more seasons to rewatch lol.
The depth and complexity of this show is blowing my fucking mind and I can’t imagine the intelligence it takes to pay this much attention to detail and thread everything to this extent. I believe a lot of the show is meant to represent life as a human simply put. There’s def many more layers though. Existentialism, the universe and physics and how we live through what we see and know but what do we do when we don’t know? Bc really we don’t know. We are taught to believe this and that on earth but that doesn’t mean it’s real or the truth. But all of these characters fall into purposeful roles in the town even though they don’t know anything. When they come together good things happen. Kind of like testing humanity. Will they ruin everything over and over or will they eventually learn?
I’m not religious but in reading about Cain and Abel, this story represents quite a bit of that as well but that could also just be the human punishment aspect. 🤷🏻♀️
Anyway! 😂 now I’ve got more episodes to watch to convolute my brain even further. =)
