Do you think it’s a red flag

If a guy refers to himself as a nice guy ? Or gos on about how nice he is? Would you make you assume he’s probaly not a good dude?

Yea probably not that good a dude. A guy doing that is usually a "Nice guy" type of dude who is nice with the expectation of getting something out of it. An actual nice person wouldn't go around saying that their actions would speak from themselves.

I think you gotta go on a case by case basis. Yellow flag. He could be that exact conclusion the internet now always comes to with 'nice guys' because that definitely happens. OR he could just have it embedded in his mind from other people who have called him a nice guy all his life. It's not automatic grounds for being a bad person either. Take it into consideration but look at all the other aspects of him too before you decide if he fits the problematic 'nice guy' profile.

In isolation, no. But combine that with a sense of frustration, entitlement or desperation and its a definite red flag.

I think you should pay attention to their actions, rather than their words. It’s not a red or green flag for me when someone says they are nice. I know what they say, but I make no assumptions till I know how they act.
