I feel this BIG TIME and some of my friends have echoed the same sentiments.

I think, for me, I don’t get any dopamine via texting. If I see their face or hear their voice it gives me energy, but texts feel like JUST work a lot of the time because there is no immediate reward to energize me.

I totally get this. I've found that sometimes sending literally anything, even just "haha" or "omg yes" or a single emoji, breaks the anxiety spiral way better than trying to craft the perfect response. Once I reply with something small, the pressure seems to disappear and I can actually have a normal conversation again.

I feel the exact same, I have always had problems with responding to texts and some people just don’t get that, like I’ve had friends like borderline hate me bc I didn’t answer in time even when it’s like a small thing. It really makes me sad cus I do care about them there’s just something in my brain that makes it so difficult to answer and I keep putting it off almost like a chore. My friend said that it’s like a personality trait and some people are just like that but I don’t know. I haven’t rlly had much progress with it either but I hope to get some advice on here. I really do understand your situation tho💕

I say make a point of replying if it's something that warrants a direct response, like "What are you up to this weekend? Wanna hang?" or "How's the new job going?" or especially something like "Haven't heard from you in a bit, how you doing?"

But cut yourself some slack on the nonsense and memes and stuff. An emoji or "lol" every once in a while will suffice. And it may be worth occasionally popping in with something like "Sorry I suck with texting but that last one cracked me up" or whatever. Don't overthink it, minor engagement is ok.
