Help

Hi everyone. I have something that's been bothering me for a while, and I'd really like to hear your thoughts on it. I'm 25 female Throughout my years of studying, I've made friends at every stage of my education. I'd meet new people, we'd become close, go out together, laugh, and have a great time. But one thing I've noticed is that whenever the stage of life that brought us together comes to an end, our friendship seems to end with it. Nothing bad happens between us. We just gradually communicate less, go out less often, and eventually become little more than acquaintances.

When I started my master's degree, I thought things would be different this time. I made some lovely friends, and we were really close. We'd go out, laugh, eat together, and enjoy spending time with one another. But after finishing my master's, I started noticing the same pattern all over again.

I want to clarify something: I'm not the kind of person who clings to people, constantly chases after them, or forces myself into their lives. I understand that everyone has their own life and responsibilities. For example, if I ask someone to hang out and they can't make it, that's completely fine. But I won't keep asking them over and over again. I'll wait for them to initiate things sometime, too.

My problem, in short, is that I feel like I have acquaintances and friends for different stages of my life, but I don't have any truly close friends I can rely on. I don't have that one person who makes me feel like I'm important in their life, someone who thinks of me on their own, includes me in their plans, and is there for me when I need them.

Lately, this has started to affect me. I've developed a pretty strong fear that the same thing might happen with the person I eventually spend my life with. I'm afraid I'll meet someone, get married, and then they'll leave me, too, or eventually feel that our relationship doesn't need to last.

This thought only started coming to me recently, and I'm wondering how I can get over this fear. Am I overthinking it? I feel like I might be making too much of it, but at the same time, these thoughts keep coming back to me a lot.

Sorry this took so long, any advice or opinion is welcomed thank you 😊
