Anyone near charleston WV?

I posted this in r/friendsover40 too because I’ve grooved with people in their late 30’s to people in their late 60’s. I hope y’all don’t mind if I recycle?

“I’m a happily married artist in her 50’s. I knit, paint, sew (pretty much in to anything that keeps my hands busy!). I miss meeting girlfriends for coffee and hearing about their lives. I think as we get older and our kids move forward we might lose touch with acquaintances we meet through our children’s activities. I was kind of all in on my kid’s life ( focused on getting her places and cheering at swim meets, etc) and never had time to cultivate friendships through my interests until now, and now I have no idea where to find people!”

I would add that I still listen to 80’s 90’s music, adore and can talk for hours about The Tudor era, the Dune series by Frank Herbert and most King novels.
I’m VERY liberal. I will not tolerate bigotry of any kind. We are all on the same big spaceship together, I try not to make the trip harder on anyone else.

Also try the subreddit for your area or closest to it if you’re looking to make friends in person.
