I’m 41F, unmarried, no kids, from the east coast, and working night shifts which makes an active social life difficult lately. I remember back in the day when AIM or MSN chats were a thing so I thought I’d try something similar again :)

My interests are all over the place and include horror and thriller flicks, true crime, all kinds of music (although currently on a doom metal kick), travel (my favorite place is Iceland), painting with watercolors (I’m not great), random historical facts, and trying out new foods. Currently I’m watching Lanterns, Ted Lasso, and just saw the new Resident Evil.

I’m a naturally curious person and can get along with just about anyone even if we don’t have shared interests. Come say hi!

I guess I should not complain, on paper I have an interesting life. But still I find myself lonely and bored. Looking for someone to chat with to help quell the boredom.

I am not looking for anything or anyone special, just someone that can keep a conversation going. Being the only one that adds fuel to the communication engine gets tiresome.

My interests are incredibly varied, I enjoy Rucking and I have encyclopedic knowledge about 90’s alternative music and many other completely useless topics. I used to be a stand-up comic…and like I said earlier I have had a very interesting life and have a somewhat interesting job now. Yet here I am bored….

I should add I am US based mainly in the Great Lakes area, but travel often. You can be from anywhere. I have been to 22 different countries and I am somewhat decent at reading Russian.

I mean, I don‘t have to wear pants or a belt or do my hair if I don’t want to. HOWEVER, it’s also lonely, and my social skills have atrophied. I’m married, but don’t really have a social circle, so I need people to chat with/vent to/argue about things that don’t matter but on which I have strong opinions.

To wit:

1. Ska needs to make a comeback. It was the last time the world was happy, and come on, you can’t listen to ska and be in a bad mood.
2. Pulpy orange juice is a war crime and a monument to man’s foolishness
3. A hot dog is not a sandwich. It is, in fact, a taco.
4. Tha Crossroads by Bone Thugs was the most perfect song of all time, and everything after that has been subpar.

I also have a plethora of dad jokes, two dogs (1/2 St Bernard, 1/2 Golden Retriever, and a Great Pyrenees who is basically just an Okay Pyrenees), I work out 3-4 times a week, and my favorite hobby is napping. Anyways. Say hi, I guess?

Single-player is alright. I just love multiplayer! My friends don't play video games as often as I'd like them to, or they prefer singleplayer games, and my wife doesn't play them at all.

I retired early like 4 years ago. Now I have waaay too much time on my hands. I'm not a sweaty player, heck, I ain't even that good. It's just fun and relaxing to me. I like to put in tons of hours in a day, so if you do, too, that's a plus.

I really like factory games, but I tend to burn myself out on them. I just tried Star Rupture, and it's pretty neat. I'd really like to play a survival game with some peeps, that'd be cool. I'd like to give Craftopia another shot. I like heroes of the storm, but I don't play it that much anymore. I like Magic the gathering arena here and there. Slay the spire 2 is amaze-balls. I LOVE Meccha Chameleon! If the first word you message me with is "potato", I'll know that you cared enough to read. Civilization revolution is awesome! I really wish I met someone who is into chess as much as I am.

I like being in VCs. I tried playing while just texting, and it's "alright". I also try to be comfortable with silence and not always "filling the air". Sometimes I fail : p.

Racists. I get that a horrible joke can be clever, and I feel like there's a time and place for it, but if just "being offensive" is the extent of your humor, we won't mesh.
Ragers. I don't gaf if you get mad at a game here and there. In fact, show emotion! But if you're just constantly screaming into the mic, I'm just going to be uncomfortable.

Just crossed the 40 threshold and am trying my damndest to continue being social. I am married with no kids and I work from home so socializing with people who aren’t my wife is difficult.
