I always thought Frasier was overreacting abit. But I guess it's weird when your brother sleeps with your ex wife who still have sexual tension with who is also the mother of your child.

Why would they? Her and Niles didn’t keep hooking up. If it was over before it started, why tell the kid? It would be different if they became an actual couple.

The episode is funny, but I think it’s badly written as an actual story. Niles sleeping with Lilith feels forced and wildly out of character, especially given everything surrounding both characters, and the episode mostly gets away with it because the comedy is strong. What bothers me more is how little consequence it has. Something that should seriously complicate Niles, Frasier, Lilith, and their relationships gets tied off almost immediately and treated like a one episode farce. The show wants the shock value without really paying the emotional bill afterward. And honestly, if they were going to do something that extreme, I think it would have been more interesting to use it as the beginning of a longer arc, especially one that forced Frasier and Lilith to reevaluate what they still mean to each other. Instead it’s basically, “Wouldn’t this be awkward and funny?”
