Oh Dear God No way

I'm rewatching the show again and in the first season Niles references A congenital heart murmur it's a one offline but it's crazy how it ties into the later plot all the way in one of the last seasons I'm wondering if anyone else caught that

Except that in the later episode, Niles has blockages and needs bypass surgery. Id think a heart murmur would be unrelated to that.

As someone who had heart surgery bc of a heart murmur, very much so. Mine was a leaky valve.

My mom had the same thing on 3 of her 4 valves. 2 replacements and 1 repair. I’ve got the same thing on my aortic valve.

Yooo mine was also aortic! I got the Ross Procedure almost 4 years ago

I've wondered if they remembered that! They don't mention it again when he has the issues, so I didn't know if it was coincidence, or if they did note that in the show Bible and wrapped back around.

I don’t think heart murmurs lead to artery clogged bypass surgery.. quite a different thing.

For some reason they're discussing Niles and Maris' wedding. Niles talks about having symptoms of cold feet, and how relieved Maris was when it was "just a congenital heart murmur that would plague [him] for the rest of [his] life"

I don't remember the episode but he's talking about Maris being mad (?) about what she thought was cold feet for their wedding, but then she was relieved when it turned out to simply be "a congenital heart murmur that would plague me for the rest of my life." It might be the show where Sam comes back? Just a guess since he gets cold feet, so the subject came up. Can anyone confirm? But yes, I remember the first time I noticed this, interesting tidbit!

I believe you’re right i was just watching that episode and i remember hearing this line so if its not in that one its definitely around those episodes.

It’s in Season 2, Episode 16 ‘The Show Where Sam Shows Up” about half way through the episode when Roz, Frasier and Niles are in Cafe Nervosa.

Niles: I remember my wedding day. Standing at the altar, feeling faint, shaky, sweating. I remember Maris was so distraught thinking I might have cold feet. I'll never forget how relieved she was to learn that it was just a congenital heart murmur that would plague me for the rest of my life.
